VALORANT Mobile announced on first year anniversary

Riot Games celebrated VALORANT’s first-year anniversary by announcing VALORANT Mobile and revealing that 14 Million players hop on each month.

Riot Games was founded in 2006, and up until last year, they were only known for League of Legends. On their MOBA's 10th anniversary, they revealed a plethora of new titles in the works. This included everything from a collectible card game to a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive inspired tactical shooter. The latter is the one we are giving the spotlight to today, and it is none other than VALORANT. Now, we also have VALORANT Mobile.

VALORANT recently enjoyed the peak of its esports scene, with VCT Masters Reykjavík. Ten teams from around the world competing for international glory, with the Grand Finals between Sentinels and FNATIC hitting a 1 Million peak viewership. That alone speaks volumes on the potential growth and future of VALORANT esports. The studio today celebrated the title's one-year anniversary, accompanied by some interesting and exciting announcements.

Riot announces Valorant Mobile

The first and most impressive announcement is that of VALORANT Mobile. There have been rumors before regarding the tactical shooter making its way to mobile devices. Now it is finally a reality. VALORANT Executive Producer, Anna Donlon, confirmed the news and their commitment to delivering the same experience on mobile that everyone enjoys on PC. VALORANT Mobile still doesn't have any release date or solid plans on when players will be able to test it.

“One of our top goals this first year was to earn the trust and respect of the global FPS community, and to prove to them that VALORANT will always uphold the fundamentals of a truly worthwhile competitive tac-shooter,” Donlon said. “To see our growing player community recognize and appreciate what we’re trying to do with VALORANT is beyond what we could’ve expected and we’re thrilled to soon offer the same competitive VALORANT experience to even more global players.”

Valorant has 14 million monthly players!!

Riot Games also revealed 14 million players hop on each month to play VALORANT. Now when you look at it, that's an astronomical number when you compare it to CS: GO. The latter recorded just under 27 million unique players last month. For a game that is just one year old, Valorant has achieved a significant milestone and is on the growth trajectory.
