Arcane sits atop Netflix as the streaming platform’s No.1 show after debut. Find out which countries it topped the charts in.

Riot Games’ new League of Legends animated series “Arcane” was the first of its kind for the video game publisher. Now, it appears as if their venture past gaming has paid off as their new series is an absolute hit on Netflix.

Arcane #1 Netflix Show in 38 different Countries

Arcane premiered on November 6 with a three-episode trilogy. Since then, the new Netflix animated series has shot up in popularity as it is currently #1 on Netflix in 38 different Countries, overtaking the likes of the popular South Korean series Squid Games.

Interestingly, one of the Countries not featured in the aforementioned list is the United States, where it only ranks #6. Furthermore, in countries like the United Kingdom and South Korea, it is only #8 and #3, respectively. That being said, while not number #1 in every Country, reception for the new Netflix series is well-favored. Currently, the series holds a 100% rating on Rotten Tomato and a 98% Audience score. IMDB also gives it a 9.4/10 after Act 1.

What is Arcane about?

Arcane is Riot Games’ long-awaited animated Netflix series. The show is based on the game companies popular MOBA League of Legends, specifically around characters in the thriving Piltover City and underground trenches of Zaun. 

The story focuses on the relationship between two LoL Characters, Vi and Jinx, also known as Powder. Throughout the story, the two sisters deal with the larger struggles of crime and poverty in their home of Zaun while dealing with the contrasting world of Piltover.

With an additional six episodes left waiting to be released on Netflix, Riot Games’ newest animated series looks to dominate the streaming service in the coming weeks.

After years spent becoming a leader in the gaming and esports industry, Riot Games sought to expand off of their popular MOBA title. Since 2020, Riot Games introduced a plethora of new games, such as the hit FPS title “VALORANT” and “Wildrift”, the mobile version of League of Legends. And with the rampant success of their newest animated series, the rest of the year is looking bright for Riot Games.

Arcane Act 2 will be released on November 13 as Riot’s popular Netflix series looks to continue its momentum from Act 1. And with a talented ensemble of actors ranging from Breaking Bad to Game of Thrones, it is expected that the series will continue to reach the public eye.
