Zenless Zone Zero story explained

Zenless Zone Zero takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where people must adapt to new technologies in order to survive and fight against monsters called "Ethereals." These monsters come from Hollows, which are supernatural disasters. Humans can also be corrupted and turned into Ethereals, bringing a more sinister element to the game's story and lore.

New Eridu is the only surviving location left. People collect resources from Hollows to fight against the Ethereals. Eventually, people started to monetize Hollows, resulting in businesses, factions, gangs, and tensions. Proxies, for example, are folks who guide others into Hollows.

As a player, you are represented by either Belle or Wise. These siblings work together as a Proxy called "Phaethon." You also get to play as Agents in Zenless Zone Zero. Unlike the siblings, these are characters who can directly engage in combat. You can get some free Agents as you progress further into the game or use the Zenless Zone Zero gacha system.

These are the basics of the overall Zenless Zone Zero story and lore. The game also does well in creating cutscenes that can endear certain Agents to players. For example, Billy Kid is a cyborg with a fun personality. His guns even have spurs on them! As you progress further into the game, you're likely to meet more characters that you'll enjoy.
