The answer may not satisfy Battle Royale fans.

XDefiant is Ubisoft's newest entry into the first-person shooter genre. This game follows a similar path to others like Rainbow Six: Siege. However, unlike Siege, XDefiant is a fast-paced arena-style shooter more closely related to the Call of Duty series. As with any new release, players are wondering whether XDefiant has a Battle Royale mode. Unfortunately, Battle Royale fans may not like the answer.

No, XDefiant does not currently have a Battle Royale mode. Considering this subgenre has become popular with games like PUBG, Apex Legends, Fortnite, and Call of Duty: Warzone, some players naturally hoped to see XDefiant follow suit. That simply is not the case, at least at the moment. Ubisoft has not mentioned a Battle Royale mode in the roadmap. However, it's always a possibility with how games operate nowadays.

Call of Duty: Warzone did not arrive until five months into Infinite Warfare's lifespan. As a result, a Battle Royale could happen for XDefiant, but it's a firm no for now.

What can I expect when playing XDefiant?

Although a Battle Royale mode is unavailable in XDefiant, this is a perfect game for first-person shooter fans. In a given match, you will experience fast 6v6 gameplay on one of 14 maps at launch. There are various weapons, ranging from Assault Rifles to Snipers and everything in between. Additionally, there are basic attachments you can unlock and various cosmetics to acquire.

Even if you are strictly a Battle Royale fan, XDefiant may be worth a shot, especially considering it's free-to-play. You can download XDefiant directly from the Ubisoft website for PC or on Xbox and PlayStation.

If this doesn't interest you, games like Fortnite, Apex, and Warzone will be your best bet to scratch that itch.
