Back into the depths we go.
The Season of Discovery rolls on, as Blizzard announced today when Phase 3 of its WoW Classic experiment goes live. Thursday, April 4 at 4 p.m. EST is when the level cap once again goes up, this time from 41 to 50. In addition, WoW Season of Discovery Phase 3 also features another old dungeon converted into a new-ish raid. This time around, 20-player groups will raid the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, better known as the Sunken Temple.
Let's learn some lore and where we'll be going this time around.

When does Season of Discovery Phase 3 launch
Players tired of Gnomeregan and ready to level up in Phase 3 of WoW Classic Season of Discovery will await April 4 with baited breath. This time around, the central piece of content sends players east of Deadwind Pass in the Eastern Kingdoms, out in the Swamp of Sorrows. It's here that raids of 20 will confront the horrors of the Sunken Temple, once a site of power for the troll blood god, Hakkar.
Here's everything you need to know about Sunken Temple.
- The Sunken Temple is a religious structure built by the Atal'ai troll priests to honor the Blood God, Hakkar the Soulflayer.
- The Atal'ai trolls believed that summoning Hakkar would grant them total power. However, their plans were discovered by the other troll tribes and the Gurubashi Empire. Oops. They were quickly exiled.
- The Green Dragonflight, led by Ysera, sunk the temple beneath the swamp, trapping the priests and their idols.
- Despite their defeat, the Atal'ai priests continued their efforts to summon Hakkar within the Sunken Temple.
- The temple's corruption attracted the attention of the Green Dragonflight. Several dragons were captured and put into a deep slumber within the Sunken Temple.
- In-game, the Sunken Temple has undergone changes through various changes to streamline its layout and quests, including its addition to Season of Discovery Phase 3 as a 20-player raid.
As a player who once tackled the dungeon at-level, all I can tell Season of Discovery Phase 3 players is to have fun. Oh, and don't fall down the hole. Look for all this new content on April 4.
