WoW housing rewards

According to the latest update on WoW housing, the team behind it wants to reward housing decor through various core gameplay activities. Therefore, instead of limiting rewards to housing-specific content, players can earn decor while enjoying the game in their own way.

They can do solo questing, craft some decor through professions, use the Auction House, run dungeons, do raids, and so on. For example, to get a particular jade-inlaid bookshelf, players might have to do a certain quest in Pandaria.

How to get WoW housing decorations

Under the WoW housing system, most of the decor types such as beds, chairs, and shelves can be found via vendors, the Auction House, quests, and more. A wooden chair, for example, is considered an inexpensive commodity.

Next, investment decor refers to niche items such as a fountain with particle effects or magical books. These require more time, effort, or resources to obtain.

As for trophy decor, these are items that require skill, cooperation, or a lot of time commitment. If a player would like to obtain the head of Onyxia as decor, then defeating her is a must.

It should also be noted that veteran players get a head start in decor collection thanks to their past achievements, too. According to the team behind WoW housing, the system takes legacy reputations, professions, and other major milestones into consideration.

"If you raised your reputation to exalted with someone, you’ll be able to purchase their goods right away," the post explained. "If you completed an achievement 10 years ago that rewards a [new] piece of decor today, you’ll be granted that piece of decor on login."

Will there be a WoW housing profession?

According to Blizzard Entertainment, decor can also be crafted by all "existing non-gathering primary professions instead of creating a new profession solely dedicated to it." For example, players with the Blacksmithing profession can create decor made out of metal. Meanwhile, the Enchanting profession means magical decor such as glowing orbs and floating books. As for the Jewelcrafting profession, players with it can create items featuring gems galore.

"Each profession will be able to craft a few pieces of appropriate decor from each expansion using that expansion’s version of the profession. [To] craft something from Mists of Pandaria, you will need the relevant Mists of Pandaria profession at the appropriate level."

"To craft something, players will need not only the required recipe and skill level, but they will also need to gather a new type of decor-crafting specific reagent per-expansion as well as any required reagents from that expansion," the post added.
