Blizzard just announced the World of Warcraft (WoW) esports roadmap! The new year will feature the return of the Arena World Championship (AWC) and Mythic Dungeon International (MDI). It will also showcase the World of Warcraft: The War Within expansion. Read on for the WoW esports 2024, WoW AWC, and WoW MDI details.
WoW esports 2024 roadmap
In partnership with Raider.IO, WoW esports will have three seasons of competition alongside some bonus events throughout 2024. In terms of the prize pool, the official announcement stated that $2 million USD of prizes will be at stake. There will be new in-game rewards as well.
Registration for the first WoW esports 2024 events is now open. These include WoW AWC Dragonflight Season 3 Cups 1 and 2 for North America (NA) and Europe (EU). There's also the WoW MDI Dragonflight Season 3.

WoW MDI 2024 registration and schedule
Registration for WoW MDI Dragonflight 2024 will end on Jan. 29 before the Time Trials phase kicks off on Jan. 31. Then, this phase will conclude on Feb. 5. The top 16 teams will face off in the Group Stage before eight teams advance to the Global Finals. A prize pool of $200,000 USD will be on the line.
Blizzard also mentioned The Great Push (TGP), will also have events across Seasons 3 and 4. More information will be available after the official announcement of Season 4, according to Blizzard. "Across the year, more than $900,000 USD in prizing will be available between MDI and TGP programs," the post noted as well.
WoW AWC 2024 prize pools and schedule
As for the WoW AWC 2024 roadmap, it will span across Dragonflight Seasons 3 and 4. Two AWC Cups will happen before the Mid-Season Clash and Gauntlet events. The Mid-Season Clash will have a $100,000 USD prize pool. Then, the AWC Cups will resume in Season 4 before the second Gauntlet event plus the WoW AWC Dragonflight Grand Finals. Four teams will then duke it out for the lion's share of the $300,000 USD prize pool.
