Running of the Trolls in World of Warcraft

Back for its ninth year, the Running of the Trolls event is an in-game event hosted by dedicated players in the World of Warcraft community. The charity event takes place during Pride Month, features a march across different locations in Azeroth, and ends as a pool party in Silvermoon City.

Running of the Trolls kicks off on June 24 at 6 p.m. PT in the Troll starting zone. It takes place on the Feathermoon-US server. New players or players who don't play a Troll in World of Warcraft can simply create a new character and receive an invitation to one of the three guilds.

These guilds include Running of the Trolls, Troll for Initiative, and Trollkyo Drift. Don't forget to use the "#TrollRun2023" on social media to share screenshots with the community!

Running of the Trolls supports The Trevor Project

All of these efforts are in support of The Trevor Project, whose goal is to save the lives of young members of the LGBTQIA+ community. Running of the Trolls also aims to give visibility to the queer World of Warcraft community and its allies.

"This charity was chosen with the guidance of the WoW community after repeated requests for a Horde side event after the success of our Alliance one that focused on a Men's issue — as Men are the most likely to end their lives — unfortunately especially queer men," the official donation page added. "We want to do everything in our power to keep more of our young community here to see the future."

Another goal is to create an online Pride Month event that is accessible to everyone. This is because not everyone around the world can easily attend an event that celebrates queer identities. Those with either a Trial or Veteran's edition of World of Warcraft can participate in Running of the Trolls as well.

That's all for now. Stay tuned on esports.gg for more news and updates.
