XLG is the second team of 2024 to ascend, as they take VCT CN Ascension after sweeping the Grand Final series.
The Ascension tournaments continue as one of the ways the VALORANT Champions Tour 2024 comes to a close. Our first peek into the 2025 VCT was through Apeks in EMEA. And now with CN Ascension's conclusion, we know Xi Lai Gaming (XLG) has earned their promotion.
The team bested Rare Atom in the Grand Final, sweeping them in dominant fashion. This was a revenge matchup as Rare Atom sent XLG to the Lower Bracket in both stages of the tournament. And get revenge they absolutely did, on their way to the VCT.

Xi Lai Gaming was definitely on the radar, but it is no secret that Rare Atom has been the favorite to win a CN Ascension event since the VCT league was introduced. They came very close, but XLG were more than ready to shut down their VCT CN Ascension dreams in the Grand Final.
The team won CN Nationals Season 2, only dropping one map throughout. And the only blemish during VCT CN Ascension came from Rare Atom. It was a close Lower Bracket Final as they had to fend off a comeback attempt from Chosen Clique Gaming, but an easy map five was all theirs.
So now, with 13:5, 13:5, and 13:7 map wins over Rare Atom, XLG are your VCT CN Ascension champions for 2024. The org is promoted to VCT CN in 2025 and will have a chance to maintain that spot through their performance in the league.
It is arguably the toughest promotion in the entirety of the VCT. As for years now, EDward Gaming has run China in VALORANT. The competition is stronger, but they have only cemented their dominance of the region through a Champions 2024 victory.
