Riot Games has unveiled more information about VCT Masters Madrid as we head closer to the first international VALORANT event of 2024. This includes the initial matchups and the tournament format which was unknown till today. Here’s all you need to know about VCT Masters Madrid.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 Tournament format

Swiss Stage (March 14 - 18)

In the Swiss Stage, teams will need to secure 2 victories before they accumulate 2 losses across a maximum of three rounds to advance out of Swiss. Each match will be a Best of Three series.

Teams who win Round 1, will move up and those who lose will find themselves in elimination matches. Between each round, two fully random draws will decide the matches - and from here on out, same region match-ups will be allowed. After three rounds of Swiss competition, we’ll have our 4 Bracket Stage contenders.

Bracket Stage (March 21 - 24)

A random draw will pair the competitors, a double elimination bracket will narrow them down, and we’ll close out with a Best-of-Five series in the Lower and Grand Finals. The last team standing will earn the title of Masters Madrid Champion.

VCT Masters Madrid 2024 kicks off on March 14 and will continue for another eleven days ending on the 24th. After several weeks of intense action featuring regional teams playing in Kickoff tournaments, we now have our final list of teams.

  • GenG vs LOUD - March 14 
  • EDG vs PRX - March 15 
  • Sentinels vs Heretics - March 15 
  • Karmine Corp vs FunPlus Phoenix - March 14 

The VCT Masters Madrid is the first international VALORANT event for 2024 with eight teams from all over the world competing. Each region, including China, has sent two teams through their various regional Kickoff events that took place in February and March 2024.
