You'll find plenty of key dates in the VCT 2024 Roster Construction Rules. It begins with the dates of the season itself. So now, we have an idea of when to expect the kick-off tournaments and when the final tournament of the season will end.

  • Start Date: February 1, 2024

VCT 2024 transfer window rules

The VCT 2024 roster rules also indicate the transfer window. This is when players can be added or removed from a team. The big takeaway here is that the transfer window runs until the middle of the year, meaning we could see some interesting trades or signings while the season is still in progress.

  • Start Date: September 11, 2023
  • End Date: July 15, 2024

There are separate dates for roster locks and roster submission for international competition. You can check those out for yourself in the rulebook.

Other interesting portions from the rules

The VCT 2024 Roster Construction Rules have quite a few other details you might find intriguing. Here are some highlights, but again, feel free to read them in full on your own time if you want to know every last detail:

  • All player contracts that last at least one full season must expire on the last day of a VCT season so the player is free to explore options when the season ends
  • Active roster players must be 18 years of age, but reserve roster players can be 17
  • A two-way player rule allows roster members to compete in VCT and secondary tournaments on a team affiliated with the VCT team, but if the player has played 50% of the season's VCT matches, they are not eligible to be a two-way player
  • VCT organizations may have both a Game Changers team and an Affiliate team that can play in Challengers, but if the Challengers Affiliate team Ascends, the affiliation must be terminated
