VALORANT Replay System finally arrives after 5 years

After years of requests, VALORANT is finally adding a replay system. Launching Sept. 16, it brings free cam, POV controls, and support for core game modes. (Just not custom games)

After five years of waiting, VALORANT will finally have a replay system for players to relive their glory and potentially learn from their mistakes. The system will launch with a free cam mode, speed controls and be available in multiple game modes.

YouTube content creator Kanga demonstrated the new system's functionality thanks to early access from Riot Games. The new feature will go live on Sept. 16 for PC users. Yep, in just two weeks you'll be able to "glaze yourself in third person" as one user commented.

VALORANT Replay System

The replay feature isn’t groundbreaking, but it fills a long-requested gap for players. Especially those keen on self-improvement or who need convincing their untimely death was a skill issue.

VALORANT Replays will last for the duration of the specific patch. Patches typically last around 2 weeks. After a new patch drops your VALORANT Replays will be wiped and no longer accessible.

At launch you will only be able to watch VALORANT replays of matches you participated in, so anything listed in your Career tab. However, you will be able to view any POV inside that replay! Unfortunately, it does mean you will still need to rely on VODs to watch pro players POV from VCT matches.

VALORANT's upcoming spectator tool includes speed controls, ranging from 0.1x all the way up to 8x.

Game Modes

VALORANT Replays will be available in the following Game Modes:

  • Competitive
  • Unrated
  • Swiftplay
  • Premier

Be aware that the replay feature will not work in custom lobbies.

When does the VALORANT Replay System release?

VALORANT replays for PC will go live with Patch 11.06 expected on Sept. 16. For console the system will go live in November, with the exception of China (October).

Soon you'll be able to create some epic highlight reels of your greatest VALORANT moments online. Or just perfect your Omen, especially as he was the most picked agent in Stage 2.
