Esports.gg was given the opportunity to speak with v1c, who has just signed with Cloud9, after winning the Red Bull Home Ground NA Qualifier.
Red Bull Home Ground was a wonderful start to the VALORANT OFF//SEASON. And now, we've got rosters forming to compete next year. One new addition is Victor "v1c" Truong to Cloud9. He was officially announced as part of the team after helping them win the Home Ground NA Qualifier.
We were given the opportunity to ask v1c a few questions coming out of the Qualifier victory, that sends C9 to the World Final in Berlin. Do note that the questions were sent before C9 revealed him as a full member of the roster, but the answers were received just after.
Cloud9's newest member, v1c, talks about winning the Red Bull Home Ground NA Qualifier
"First off, you went against MxS. What was it like facing your team as a stand-in for Cloud9?"
v1c: "It felt fun going into the match, and knowing Wippie was someone I was friends with, it felt like we swapped places from last year. It was a pretty funny story line overall."
"Was there an extra drive to do well against them? And any extra trash talk because of who was on the other side of the stage?"
v1c: "No, at the end of the day it was just a fun event overall. I just wanted to help Cloud9 as much as I could and was not really focused about who I was playing against. However, I did notice them hollering which made the match more exciting."

"The Grand Final was Cloud9 vs. Sentinels. A lot of the crowd was clearly on their side. Even with their own stand-in players, they were a heavy favorite to win the qualifier. Did the crowd rattle you at all with the Sentinels chants?"
v1c: "No, you kind of just focus on what is going on in the game and it helps you stay focused. The fans were pretty good sports overall, I did not notice them trying to ruin the experience for us outside of a few small occasions, which I really appreciated."
"You had quite the game against them. Was this a tournament where you kind of wanted to prove you can hang with the VCT teams and players?"
v1c: "I don’t think I played my best honestly, because the tournament was at the start of the off-season. I felt like I could show a lot more, but this tournament was a great opportunity for me to really showcase how high my ceiling is."
"What would you say was your own personal standout moment from that Grand Final?"
v1c: "Being able to bounce back from the first half on Lotus. I give credit to OXY and his ability to be a great positive reinforcement for the team, no matter how intense the pressure of the match is."
"When it comes to the finale of Red Bull Home Ground later in the year, are the rosters locked? Are you for certain playing there as a part of Cloud9?
v1c: "By the time this interview goes live, everyone will know I am a core member of the C9 roster for 2025. I am super grateful and happy to be a part of Cloud9 and get my shot in the VCT franchise. I hope we can use this event to get the fans excited for the 2025 season and how strong of a team we will be."
