Turtle Troops part ways with Okeanos and Harmful

The free-agent roster has dropped both Harmful and Okeanos from the team. This follows two losses in VCL North America Split 1.

It was basically a fairytale come true when Turtle Troops, previously known as Squirtle Squad, ended up qualifying for VALORANT Challengers (VCL) North America. However, after two games together in Split 1, the roster parted ways with Anthony "Okeanos" Nguyen and Mohammed "Harmful" Choudhary.

Okeanos tweeted today that he is no longer a member of the team. While no official reasons were given by either party, it seemed like a rough blow.

The team's captain, Peter "Governor" No, mentioned in a tweet of his own that Harmful was "going through something physical." The team hasn't announced any replacements for either of the players yet, despite the upcoming weeks of the Split starting again as soon as VALORANT LOCK//IN concludes.

Harmful is best known from his time on TSM Academy between March and November 2022. He was also a part of Nearest Airport, one of North America's best free agent teams before he joined Turtle Troops.

As for Okeanos, he was a part of Virtuoso and City Boys before joining forces with Turtle Troops. Okeanos played initiators like Sova, Fade, and Breach for Turtle Troops, while Harmful filled more of a flex role. The latter played mostly Jett and Cypher for the team.

Turtle Troops is one of the four teams that qualified for the Challengers League. They finished first in the Last Chance Qualifier, only dropping three maps during the Top 32 stage. The team won against The Nation and OREsports to make it to the Challengers League. Turtle Troops also had a mix of professional players and popular streamers.

So far, the team has played two games against FaZe Clan and Shopify Rebellion in the VCL North America Split 1, both of which they've lost.
