Team Liquid vs EDward Gaming: Team Liquid survive EDG scare

Team Liquid and EDward Gaming will face each other in the VCT Masters Tokyo Quarterfinal. The match is particularly important for both teams as they try to get closer to the Grand Finals.

Many fans might not have expected Edward Gaming in the playoffs, so it is always heartening to see a new region stamp its authority. EDward Gaming took down NAVI and T1 esports, definitely two of the more popular teams at VCT Masters Tokyo. 

Team Liquid comes directly into the playoffs after a stellar performance through the Regional League. The team has a mix of hard-hitting individuals as well as strategic diversity necessary to confound their opponents. Team Liquid is one of the top teams from EMEA, but whether they can handle the unique gameplay of EDward Gaming is still up for debate. 

EDward Gaming has a very aggressive playstyle, but the Chinese players also showed us a lot of strategic importance when it comes to their performance. They were able to outmaneuver their opponents regularly and were able to provide immense value when it comes to using their opponent's publicly available data against them. 

The first map was EDG's map pick and they were prepared to come and win it. While there were several occasions where Team Liquid seemed unsure of EDG's playstyle, they did end up on the winning side.
