G2 Gozen come into this match after a slight dip in form. The reigning 2022 Champions come into Sao Paulo as the EMEA region's Number 2 seed, with BBL Queens rising up to claim the top spot. As a result, the European side finds itself staring down a terrifying gauntlet on the road to retaining their Championship crown starting with the hometown heroes, Team Liquid Brazil.
Team Liquid have gone from strength to strength this season, with their near-flawless domestic performances seeing them claim Brazil's slot at Champions, ahead of bitter rivals LOUD GC. Though they may not be the nailed-on favorites to claim victory today, having the home crowd on their side will certainly be a factor. Which should make this an even more thrilling contest than it already promises to be.

Map 2: Mimi and Petra turn up the heat on Lotus
After coming out on top of a back and forth affair on Sunset, G2 Gozen head to Team Liquid Brazil's pick of Lotus for Map 2. Both sides go for similar looking double-controller comps, with Joojina bringing out an Astra as opposed to Glance's Omen.
Team Liquid take the opening pistol round and clean this up on their anti-eco following a brief tech pause, netting them the early lead. Sarah comes up with a 4k off of a miscue from TL to get G2 their first round win on the board. The European side briefly take the lead at 3 - 2 but Liquid peg them back after a slight overcook on offense from G2. Nevertheless G2 are able to shrug that off to take control of the half, thanks in no small part to Mimi, Roxi and Petra, the latter looking much improved from her performance on Sunset. But the Brazilians manage to level things up at 6 - 6, to the delight of the home crowd, to keep the series within their reach.
G2 take care of business in the second pistol round to give them back the lead at 7 - 6. This prompts them to go for some very aggressive defensive pushes which enable them to secure their anti-eco and bonus rounds. They soon break past the double-digit mark on the map, with Team Liquid looking down and out. The Brazilians attempt to mount a late comeback, but it was all for naught in the end, with mimi continuing to be a difference maker for her side. And with one last moment of brilliance from the Dane, G2 closed out Lotus 13 - 7, netting them a 2 - 0 series win.
