Talon in search of redemption in their match against T1

Talon Esports came into today's match following a slightly disappointing turn of events in their 2 - 1 loss to Team Secret in Week 1. Despite managing to push the match to a third map, Team Secret struggled with inconsistency, which ultimately led to their demise. They will be hoping that they can put that loss behind them as they will be coming up against an equally impressive T1 roster.

T1 were victorious in their opening match of the Pacific League, beating Global Esports 2 - 1. They also suffered from some inconsistent play against Global, but were ultimately able to overcome it to get their league campaign of to a solid start. With star duelist Xeta putting up phenomenal numbers across all three maps played.

Sayaplayer's Op skills proves to be the difference on Ascent

We begin this match with a trip to Ascent with Gecko making his debut in Pacific League as a part of Talon's team comp. Ban pulls off a 1 v 2 clutch to give T1 the opening pistol round. The teams trade blows early on, with Talon taking the lead at 3 - 2. But T1 answers back with two very strong rounds on their offense to retake the lead at 5 - 3. And they continue to extend their lead after a timeout was burned by each team. Culminating in T1 taking a well-earned 8 - 4 lead into halftime.

T1 takes the second pistol round and mows down Talon in the following round to put them on double digits. Talon answers back with a Flawless round and a 4k from Crws to reinvigorate themselves. T1 hits map point at 12 - 6, but Talon are not going down easy as they pull to within 4 rounds of a possible Overtime. A possibility that, unfortunately, does not come to pass for Talon as a T1 comes on top of a very scrappy round to take Ascent 13 - 8. It was truly a close fight, but it was T1's Sayaplayer who was the stand out player on Ascent as he finished the map with 22 kills and 12 deaths.

T1 continues their domination against Talon on Haven

After their narrow victory over Talon in Map 1, T1 heads to their map pick of Haven for the second game. But before the teams can load in we are met with a surprise as T1 decides to sub in iNTRO for Ban. Talon come out with a surprise of their own as Patt selects Breach for only the second time in competitive play.

T1 takes the opening pistol round and also manages to secure the second round as well. Talon manages to get their first round on the board but find themselves down 5 - 1. Which prompts them to use one of their timeouts. But it does little to stall T1's momentum as Sayaplayer continues to go to town on Talon with his Operator. That, paired with a strong showing from their sub iNTRO, enables T1 to take a 9 - 3 lead into halftime.

T1 wins the second pistol round, their fourth of the match, to reach double digits on Haven. And they make short work of Talon in the following two rounds to hit match point. Talon gets three rounds in a last ditch attempt to stage a comeback. It was a valiant effort from Talon Esports in Map 1, but they failed to hit those same levels on their own map pick. And it showed in the end as T1 took Haven 13 - 6 to secure a very dominant 2 - 0 win.
