Adam “kaplan” Kaplan will replace him as the teams’ coach ahead of the VCT NA Superweek.

North American VALORANT franchised org, Sentinels has announced a change to its roster that has taken the community by surprise. Parting ways with the org is the team’s coach, SykkoNT. Replacing him as the team’s coach is kaplan.

After three weeks of League play, Sentinels finds itself closer to the bottom of the League standings. The team is in 8th place just ahead of the Week 4 Super week. Only Evil Geniuses and Kru esports have a standing lower than Sentinels.

Rob Moore, the CEO of Sentinels announced on Twitter today they were parting ways with the former XSET coach. He also announced his replacement.

Sentinels added SykkoNT as the team’s head coach in November last year. Having successfully led XSET to some commendable performances before VCT Champs, the 31-year-old stylish coach was in hot demand. Unfortunately, it seems his time on Sentinels has come to an abrupt end for the time being.

With SykkoNT as the coach, Sentinels have played two VALORANT tournaments - the LudwigxTarik Invitational and the VCT LOCK//IN. The team finished 3rd at the Ludwig X Tarik Invitational. But their performance against much better teams at VCT LOCK//IN was much worse.

The team finished a lowly 17-32nd, losing their only match at the tournament. Sentinels lost 0-2 (6-13,7-13) to Fnatic in their opening match. The brutal single-elimination format meant they had no time to redeem themselves and improve their standings at the tournament.

What’s next for Sentinels?

Despite being 8th in the overall standings, all hope is not lost for Sentinels. With six more matches to go for the end of the regular league, Sentinels still have multiple opportunities to improve their standings. The top six teams advance to the playoffs with the top two going directly to the semi-finals.
