Final Scores for RRQ versus GE VCT Pacific LCQ

It's the battle of the wildcards to kickstart the second day of play at the VCT Pacific LCQ as GE takes on RRQ. This will be the first match of the tournament for both sides, with the winner advancing further along the bracket and the loser ending their 2023 season on a serious whimper. This will also be the first time both sides are competing against each other in a competitive setting since the end of the regular season back in May.

RRQ will be coming into this match with some extra confidence given that they were victorious over GE the last time these two sides met, as well as the fact they finished just above them in the standings. But, if there is anything we have learned throughout the course of this season, it is that you can never quite know what sort of tricks GE will have up their sleeves.

With both teams' seasons on the line, as well as a chance to progress further along the road to Champions Los Angeles, we are left to wonder whether we will see sparks fly in this match, or if one of them will succumb to the pressure early on.

RRQ grind GE into the dust on Split

EJAY gets the job done for RRQ on Ascent

After their strong performance on Split RRQ bring us over to their map pick of Ascent for the second game of this match. RRQ subs 2ge into the match in place of Emman as they decide to go for a double initiator composition. Whereas Global Esports decide to continue utilizing a double duelist composition, with t3xture going with a surprise pick of Phoenix alongside SkRossi's Jett.

GE are able to take the first pistol round as well as their anti-eco to get things going on their defensive half. RRQ deny them the bonus round, but it proves to be a costly affair for them. The map becomes a scrappy affair between the two teams following a lengthy tech pause. RRQ manage jump ahead on the map 5 - 3, but GE continue to make them sing for the supper. The Indonesian side look as though they are about to pull away from their opponents. But two big multi-kill plays from Monyet and t3xture give GE a new lease of life as they are able to tie things up at 6 - 6 going into halftime.

Global Esports retake the lead on Ascent through the second pistol round of the map as they continue their hot-streak on the map. They also convert on their anti-eco, before dropping the bonus yet again to RRQ. The game continues to be a clash of wills, but RRQ are the first to break the double-digit mark on the map at 10 - 9. And they reach match point soon after, thanks to the efforts of a red hot EJAY. GE had their moments on the map and looked like they might be able to rescue this match for themselves. But in the end their efforts didn't even matter, as Rex Regum Qeon managed to close out Ascent 13 - 10. Securing a 2 - 0 victory in the series to keep their hopes of reaching Champions 2023 alive and well.
