The final Valorant Esports event of the year is finally upon us. Eight of the best teams in the world will do battle in Manchester, England in the third edition of the Red Bull Home Ground event. Red Bull Home Ground offers fans a unique experience, with teams doing battle across a series of games on their "home ground".
Esports.gg is here to bring you the ultimate fan guide for this event. We will inform you about the teams competing, the tournament format, the prize pool the teams are battling it out for, and much more.

Red Bull Home Ground will host some of the best teams that will be competing in one of three franchised Valorant leagues. Headlining the event is Red Bull's own Cloud9. The 'heavy hitters', as they are calling themselves these days, will be debuting their new roster. This includes arguably the best player in Valorant today, Jaccob "yay" Whiteaker.
Unfortunately, Team Liquid fans will have to wait a little while longer to see their entire squad in action. Earlier today, the organization announced they would be fielding two substitutes as Ayaz "nAts" Akhmetshin and Igor "Redgar" Vlasov are unable to compete due to visa issues.
Esports.gg did a comprehensive preview of the expected favorites heading into the event.

What is the Red Bull Home Ground format?

The Red Bull Home Ground format will see eight teams compete across two stages, the group stage and the playoffs.

The eight teams have been divided into two groups of four. The group will be a single-elimination, single-round-robin group. Every series will be a best-of-three. The first-place team will progress to the semi-finals. The second and third-placed teams will progress to the quarter-final and the team that finishes in fourth will be eliminated.

Playoffs

This is where things get interesting. Every series in the playoffs will be a best of five. At the start of the series, both teams will choose one map that will be their "home ground". If either team wins both home ground maps, the series will conclude. If teams are tied then the best-of-five will proceed as normal. The playoffs is a single-elimination bracket.

What is the Red Bull Home Ground prize pool?

The eight teams competing in Manchester will be battling it out for a piece of the incredible $100,000 prize pool. Here is how the money is distributed amongst the teams:
  • 1st: $50,000
  • 2nd: $20,000
  • 3rd-4th: $10,000
  • 5th-6th: $3000
  • 7th-8th: $2000
