EMEA's top dog vs the Pacific league's last hope at Masters Tokyo.
Both sides are coming into today's matchup off of two spectacular performances in the first round of the knockout stages. Fnatic have gotten their Masters Tokyo run off to an incredible start, following their emphatic 2 - 0 win over NRG. The EMEA side will be hoping they can replicate that same level of dominance against a Paper Rex side that continues to thrive amongst the chaos they create with their hyper aggressive playstyle. Especially since the last time they faced off against Paper Rex in Masters Copenhagen, albeit with a different roster, things did not go to plan for them.
Paper Rex were victorious in their last outing on the Masters stage, beating DRX 2 - 0. Though it was a close game on paper, the Pacific's number one seed remained a step ahead of a very disappointing DRX side in their third encounter of the 2023 season. They now stand as the Pacific League's last remaining team at Masters Tokyo. And with ongoing uncertainty surrounding Something's eligibility for the tournament, you have to wonder whether they will be able to stand up to Fnatic in the same fashion they did with DRX.
