One player announced. Four more to go!

NRG has announced FNS as its first Valorant player. One of the few franchised orgs in North America, NRG started off its roster unveil with coach Chet and is now slowly unveiling its entire roster over the course of the week.

The first player joining NRG Valorant is the former OpTic Valorant IGL, Pujan "FNS" Mehta. A former CS: GO player, FNS switched over to Valorant in 2020. He joined Team Envy in July that year starting a period of dominance that lasted till February 2022. When OpTic announced the transfer of the Envy Valorant roster under its name, FNS and co. moved over.

An experienced history in Valorant and CS: GO

OpTic gaming started another period of dominance for the team. Patch updates and buffs to agents like Jett and Nerf definitely helped, but it was all about the team synergy and focus. OpTic Gaming players have repeatedly mentioned the importance of having the right mentality and approach to the game.

FNS has a rich history in first person shooter games. The 30-year-old has competed previously in CS: GO, albeit he was not as successful as he is in Valorant. He played for orgs like CLG, complexity and Cloud9 in CS: GO.

When will NRG announce the rest of its Valorant roster?

NRG will unveil more of its Valorant roster over the next few days. With FNS and Chet already on the roster, Valorant fans can expect a few more of the former OpTic squad to be a part of the NRG Valorant roster.

With the roster deadlines for Valorant Champions Tour over, fans can expect more news from the esports scene in the next few weeks. Several EMEA and Asia-Pacific teams have already announced their full rosters. However, only a handful of NA teams have done so and we can expect more news soon.
