NAVI face LOUD in a season defining matchup at Champions
LOUD were the runaway victors in their previous match on the Shrine stage; beating Team Liquid 2 - 0. A match where their star man Aspas had very little to do at times as Less and Tuyz stole the show for the Brazilian side. With both players finishing the series with a 1.43 K/D. Whether the roster as a whole can keep up the levels of intensity they showed in that match remains to be seen. But with this timely resurgence in form the odds of LOUD progressing beyond the group stage at Champions seems a bit more likely than they did at the start. But the same could also be said of this NAVI team.
The EMEA side have been one of the most impressive teams at this tournament thus far. Though NAVI were beaten 2 - 1 by DRX, in their last game, their performances thus far have been a joy to watch. Especially from their main duelist cNed who has been looks like he is hitting his peak once again. Add to that the equally impressive performances from Shao and Suygetsu and we get a truly ferocious NAVI team. The kind of team that many had expected to see light up the VCT this season. The question facing this team though, is whether their ingenious setups and fearless aggression will be enough to take down the likes of LOUD. We shall soon find out.
Natus Vincere VALORANT Roster:
- Kyrylo "Ange1" Karasov (IGL)
- Andrey "Shao" Kiprsky
- Pontus "Zyppan" Eek
- Dmitry "Suygetsu" Ilyushin
- Mehmet Yagiz "cNed" Ipek
LOUD VALORANT Roster:
- Matias "Saadhak" Delpietro (IGL)
- Erick "Aspas" Santos
- Felipe "Less" de Loyola
- Arthur "tuyz" Andrade
- Cauan "Cauanzin" Pereira
Ange1 leads by example with a stunning performance on Pearl
NAVI bring us to Pearl for map 1 of this series. Both sides decide to go for slight variations of the double-initiator composition. With NAVI using a more traditional Kayo and Sova combination, whereas Saadhak breaks out a surprise Breach pick alongside Cauanzin's Fade for LOUD.
NAVI take the first pistol round to open things up on their defensive half. LOUD bounce back with an eco round win to keep things level early in this game. NAVI mange to regain their lead in the face of a very passive press from LOUD on their attack. And they continue to build up said lead, with their IGL Ange1 rolling back the years to top the scoreboard with a 12 - 6 K/D. LOUD manage to stabilize to at least make the score line a bit more respectable. But it is NAVI who hold the advantage with an 8 - 4 lead at the end of the first half.
LOUD manage to take the second pistol round as well as their anti-eco as they attempt to claw their way back into the game. But NAVI respond well to take an anti-bonus and the first rifle round of the half to hit the 10 point mark. LOUD manage to get a couple more rounds on the board, but NAVI once again come up with a response to put themselves on map point at 12 - 8. The Brazilians are also able to amass ten points on the map, despite a last-ditch attempt from Suygetsu to close out the map. It looked as though LOUD were going to push things to overtime, with NAVI's economy a very bad spot. Yet the Europeans somehow manage to pull off one last eco-round. Enabling them to take Pearl 13 - 11 and establish a 1 - 0 lead in the series.

LOUD dial it up a notch on Ascent
LOUD take us to Ascent for map 2 of this series after a disappointing performance on Pearl. The Brazilians for the bog-standard double initiator-composition of Sova and Kayo. NAVI also go with a double-initiator setup but with Shao on Fade instead of a Sova.
NAVI take the first pistol round with Shao denying a late-clutch attempt from Less to kick things off. And they begin to build up another early lead at 4 - 0 as LOUD get off to another bad start in this series. LOUD are able to get themselves on the board, yet it does not halt NAVI's momentum in the slightest as their lead continues to grow. But all of a sudden LOUD come alive following a brief timeout as they put together a streak of five rounds in a row to tie the map up 6 - 6 to close out the first half. With Aspas and Less continuing to perform well for the Brazilians.
LOUD take the second pistol round as their round streak grows to six in a row. NAVI pull off a thrifty to tie things up for a moment only for LOUD to come up with one of their own thanks to huge B-site hold from Less and Tuyz. They manage to crack the double-digit point as the cracks really begin to show for NAVI who have struggled to regain their footing on the map. The pair scrap it out across several rounds with LOUD coming out on top to put themselves on map point at 12 - 9. Suygetsu comes up with a heroic display which gives NAVI hope of pushing the map into overtime. But LOUD steel themselves in the final round of regulation to close out Ascent 13 - 11 and tie the sereis up at 1 - 1.
Less and Saadhak stand tall on Bind to send NAVI home
After two very close games we head on over to Bind for the third and final map of this series. NAVI, who had a very tilting experience on Ascent, decide to put all of their eggs into one basket with a double-duelist-composition consisting of Raze and Neon. Where LOUD bust out a whole different level of weirdness as they go with a triple-controller composition.
Less picks up a 4k to give LOUD the first pistol round which is followed up by a 3k from Aspas in their anti-eco. Ange1 responds with a 4k to deny LOUD their bonus and get NAVI on the board. The map descends into a scrappy affair as both teams struggle to carve out a significant advantage. NAVI take 5 - 3 lead thanks to some individual efforts from Ange1 and cNed. Only for Less to pull off some brilliance of his own to keep things level. And it is thanks to his efforts that LOUD are able to take a 7 - 5 lead into halftime; which is the first time they have led a map after the first half all match.
LOUD take the second pistol round and their anti-eco as they begin to pull away from NAVI on this map. Which prompts NAVI to dial up the aggression on their attack. Allowing for cNed to find a lot more success on Neon. Another 4k from Less gets the Brazilian side to the ten point mark, but NAVI respond in kind to tie the map up at 10 - 10. LOUD get themselves to match point with their IGL Saadhak leading the way for his side. And though NAVI get to within striking distance of LOUD's lead, the Brazilian side would not be denied their destiny. Leaving LOUD to take Bind 13- 11, closing out the series 2 - 1 and booking their place in the Champions LA playoff stage.
