NAVI take down Team Liquid, advance to Playoffs

Group B of the VCT EMEA Kickoff tournament is on in full swing with the Winner’s match kicking off today. NAVI and Team Liquid have both won their opening matches against BBL and KOI respectively. Now they face each other for a direct entry to the playoffs. Here’s all you need to know about the NAVI vs Team Liquid match at the VCT EMEA Kickoff tournament.

Coming into this series, both teams had a commendable performance in their inaugural matches. While NAVI defeated BBL esports 2-1, Team Liquid had a clean 2-0 victory over KOI esports. 

The winner’s match of Group B started with Split and a couple of round victories for NAVI. While Team Liquid got the third round but then NAVI were back to winning ways. However, once Team Liquid figured out the NAVI defense, they won 6 of the next seven rounds. To end the first half, Team Liquid had earned a 7-5 lead. In the second half, however, NAVI made a fantastic comeback rampaging through the Team LIquid defense. Liquid couldn’t manage to win a single defensive round.

NAVI’s Shao and ardiis had excellent performances throughout Split. Shao had a 267 ACS while ardiis had a commendable 214 ACS. But their frags were also extremely impactful and resulted in several openings throughout the map. 

The second map of Breeze followed a similar pattern as the first. While The first half was a dead-even 6-6, NAVI had a very dominating second half with only one round won by Team Liquid. With a 13-7 score, NAVI managed a 2-0 victory over Team Liquid to move on to the next stage.
