One win from Leviatán during the VCT Americas 2024 Stage 2 Playoffs ensured Sentinels has qualified for VALORANT Champions 2024.

Heading into the second round of the VCT Americas Stage 2 playoffs, a spot at Champions 2024 was on the line for multiple teams. And even though Sentinels already suffered an elimination, a win by Leviatán ensured their travel to Seoul, Korea.

Sentinels fans, say thank you.

Let's break it down. Heading into the VCT Americas Stage 2 playoffs, LEV was for sure going to Champions. If they won zero games, they'd still make it in through Championship Points.

Sentinels lost to 100 Thieves in a Knockout Round contest, but still had enough Championship Points to make it through if Leviatán qualified through the bracket rather than points. Which is exactly what happened.

Sentinels fans were all cheering on the blue during LEV vs. KRÜ. LEV, to be frank, decimated the opposition and gave SEN exactly what they were hoping for. That provides VCT Americas with their first two Champions representatives.

At the time of writing, two spots are still up for grabs via the playoff bracket. The winner of G2 Esports vs. 100 Thieves determines one, and then the loser of that vs. KRÜ gives us our final team. After that, it is all about seeding.

Other regions have already cemented their Champions teams:

  • China: FPX, EDG, BLG, Trace
  • Pacific: Gen.G, DRX, PRX, Talon
  • EMEA: FNATIC, Vitality, Heretics, FUT

With that in mind, Leviatán is looking as consist as any team in the world. They'll head to Korea, but still have the rest of the Stage 2 VCT Americas bracket to sharpen their skills and get some reps in before taking on the best the global VALORANT scene has to offer.
