The first match of VALORANT Masters Copenhagen Kicked off with a series between Karmine Corp and FunPlus Phoenix. The tournament is the first international event of 2024 and features eight of the best teams from all over the world. Karmine Corp started Icebox with a bang, winning the first few rounds comfortable. The substantial early game lead was partly due to their staunch defense, while FPX were still trying to figure out their momentum coming into this series.
The first ace of Masters Madrid!!
Playing the first match of the tournament is often difficult for the team it takes some time to get going. And today, FPX seemed to take their own time to get going.
Even though FPX Life got the first ace of Masters Madrid it wasn't really enough to help the team win the first map. Karmine Corp won Icebox taking a one-map lead through the series.
Lotus
FunPlus Phoenix had a much better start on Lotus winning six of the first nine rounds. Despite the significantly better start for FunPlux Phoenix on Lotus, Karmine Corp bounced back in the second half.
The strong attack side by Karmine Corp was unstoppable and FPX simply didn't have an answer. With a 241 ACS, Autumn tried his best on FPX, but it wasn't enough.
With this victory, Karmine Corp are now up in the Round 2 High Matches. Meanwhile, FPX will go down to the Round 2 low matches. Neither team faces elimination, but Karmine Corp are obviously one step closer to a much better performance.

The tournament has two teams from each of the four regions including China, which also hosted a regional qualification round for the first time. The winner of this event takes home $250,000 as well as 3 VCT points. The VCT Points will be crucial later in the year when deciding the list of invitations for VCT Champs 2024.
