FunPlus Phoenix vs LOUD - One team can survive another day at Masters Madrid

FunPlus Phoenix has been a mainstay organization in VALORANT. From fielding the now-NAVI roster in EMEA to becoming one of the top teams in China. They definitely belong, and can prove that even further by sending LOUD packing.

For the former VALORANT Champions, they faced a surprising loss to Gen.G. Now, with their backs against the wall, Saadhak and company can show the resolve we all know them for. This is a team that may be down, but they are never out.

At the end of the series, though, only one of them will remain in the tournament. VCT China's number two seed or VCT Americas number two seed is about to have extra time to prepare for Stage 1 of their league. Let's hope for a good battle.

FunPlus Phoenix vs LOUD - Masters Madrid Swiss Stage recap

Read on for a recap of the series and plenty of clips that highlight the action.

Map 1: Sunset

LOUD started Sunset with a Flawless pistol round. They took the next, but FPX stole away the bonus with slightly better weaponry. That set them up to tie it early on. It was then a huge 4K and Clutch from Life to put FPX in the lead. LOUD was ready to fight, though, as the teams went back and forth.

LOUD managed a slight lead, with FPX halting them for just a moment with a Thrifty round. That garnered no momentum, however. LOUD continued to push forward towards a solid lead at halftime. A dominating retake just before sides switched put LOUD up by four.

The second half pistol round was a lot closer than the first half, but it still went to LOUD. One more round was all it took for them to reach double digits, on the back of a Saadhak 4K. FPX had no answer for the start of LOUD's attack, calling a timeout to try and recuperate.

It worked for just one round, and LOUD had no problem getting their 11th right after. A couple of failed retakes by FPX propelled the Brazilian team to the end of Sunset. In dominating fashion, they proved ready to move onto map two.

Map 2: Breeze

Another pistol round went in favor of LOUD, as they started Breeze as the attacking team. Then in the blink-of-an-eye, Round 2 was also theirs. And to repeat the first map, the bonus went to FPX with a better buy. A great defensive hold gave FPX what they needed to tie it at two a piece.

Back and forth they went again, but this time, LOUD did not push ahead. It stayed fairly even throughout the half, until FPX managed a small lead at halftime. Each team played standard VALORANT to snag the rounds that came to them.

As things swapped over, we saw more of the LOUD that appeared on Sunset. They quickly tied it, and eventually gained a two round lead. FPX soon cut that down to a one round lead, ready to put up much more of a fight here.

They eventually scraped their way into a small lead, off of huge plays by autumn. That did not shake LOUD, however. The 2022 VALORANT World Champions remained headstrong, fighting to take back the lead and reach map, and series point. A B Site retake then cemented their victory, eliminating FPX.
