Evil Geniuses is coming off a world championship victory in 2023, but the team is vastly different. One player who slots into the 2024 version of EG is their new IGL, Nicholas "NaturE" Garrison.



He had quite the shoes to fill coming into this year, and it looks as though the new EG roster is adjusting. Coming off of a VCT Americas Stage 1 loss to Cloud9, we chatted with the IGL about how the team is adjusting.

"Getting a map victory here looks like a better performance than Week 1, from a spectator’s standpoint. Do you feel like this was an improvement, despite the loss?"



NaturE: "Yeah, this week definitely was an improvement, especially with Lotus in general. We had a really rough Lotus last week against G2. We fixed it and cleaned up a lot of our issues. It was small mistakes, especially in the late round. And I think we showed that we fixed that really, really well, in terms of this week."



"What kind of things did the team intend on cleaning up after the loss to G2, and did that happen?"



NaturE: "Lotus was all about late round stuff, making sure that we're doing everything right when we're actually up in advantage. We cleaned up our starting, our openers, and made sure we were really, really good on those.



"Because we lost a few times when we were in a 3v5, stuff like that. And then we just had some oopsies, right, in the first week. I feel like a few of us just messed up and, you know, that happens. We just made sure that we were cool, calm, collected for Lotus because we knew we were really confident on it."

NaturE: "I don't think of it as pressure. it's just, I've got to do my job right. It was a lot of small mistakes, even in today's games, that I made. That

Even if you aren't a Swiftie, you probably have at least heard that her newest album, "The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology." Released today, the new record has already pulled in quite a few listeners. One of her songs, though, is called Fortnight. It also features Post Malone on the track. Is it about Fortnite: Battle Royale? Or is it just a coincidence?









Let's get into it.



Was Fortnight named after Fortnite?



While the lyrics suggest a whole different meaning, the song Fortnight by Taylor Swift does have some lore rumored to be around it. 



The song itself seems to be using the traditional meaning of Fortnight, which is "a period of two weeks." However, rumors have serviced that the song was written about an ex-boyfriend of hers who played way too much Fortnite (if there ever was such a thing).







I wouldn't put this past Taylor. I mean, everyone knows that her songs are usually about ex-boyfriends, and Fortnite is a HUGE game. 



Taylor Swift's new album has a song called Fortnight while the game Fortnite is huge. Coincidence? I think not!



I know what you are all thinking: "Fortnight was literally a word before the game Fortnite came out." Yes. I know. I am not here to act like the word originated with the popular Battle Royale that millions across the globe still play. 



But there is no denying, that since the game's release, many have come to think of the Battle Royale whenever they hear the word Fortnight (Fortnite for the gamers). 







So Taylor couldn't possibly release a song with that title thinking no one would relate it to the game, right? I mean... Post Malone is literally featured on the song. He is an avid gamer who has been seen streaming live on Twitch in the past. It only makes sense!



Well, if you look at the lyrics, then no - Fortnight is not about the game Fortnite (unless you relate the part about a storm to the game). But if you look at some of the lore and rumors behind the song, well, we just may be on

The insanely hyped Crownfall patch is finally here! Valve releases the massive update today in mid-April  to bring an entire story event revolved around the Skywrath Mage and Vengeful Spirit lore. Here is every new item you can purchase in the Dota 2 Crownfall event including Arcanas, treasures, and other rewards.






Skywrath Mage Arcana: The Devotions of Dragonus - Crownfall event



The Skywrath Mage Arcana in Crownfall comes in two styles. The first is called "Servants of Scree'Auk" which is the default version. The second style is called "Sovereigns of Skywrath" which you can unlock only after you complete the Main Quest in Act IV.

The Arcanas for Vengeful Spirit on the other hand comes in three styles. The default style is called "Sovereigns of Skywrath". The second version which can only be obtained after completing the Main Quest in Act IV is called "Servants of Scree'Auk". The third style, "Queen Imperia" can only be unlocked after completing all Main Quests and Side Quests in all four of Crownfall Acts.

The Arcanas are unique and mesmerizing as usual, but what makes it more exciting, is that it comes with bonus styles that you can unlock. How to unlock bonus Arcana style for Skywrath Mage



The Skywrath Mage Arcana has the dark default style that you can purchase for $34.99. But there is a bonus style that colors Skywrath Mage in his natural golden glow and you can unlock this style without no additional cost.







To unlock Skywrath Mage's bonus Arcana style, you must complete the Main Quest in Act IV. We are currently in the midst of Act I and as the event unfolds, we will get to the final phase of the event, Act IV. Complete the Main Quest from Start to Finish in Act IV and you will unlock the bonus Skywrath Mage Arcana style - "Sovereigns of Skywrath."






How to unlock bonus Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit



While Skywrath Mage has an additional Arcana style, Vengeful Spirit has two! The default Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit goes for $34.99 which sees the originally gloomy hero in a new, bright, golden glow. Its second style "Servants of Scree'Auk" portrays the hero in her more natural form with a purplish ambiance. To unlock the bonus Arcana style for Vengeful Spirit, you must complete the Main Quest in Act IV.

Teamfight Tactics (TFT) had one of its biggest patches of Set 11, Inkborn Fables on April 17. However, with the nerfs to reroll 3-cost compositions and Senna and buffs to Gnar, composition diversity shrank instead of widening.

There were buffs across the board to many 4-cost units, but it wasn't enough to stop Kai'sa compositions to be overwhelmingly present in the meta. The balance team is acting fast to remedy the situation and bring about more composition viability. Nerfs to many aspects of the Kai'sa line aims to achieve that goal. Players have clamored for a return, but Epic Games has been reluctant to unleash Kratos to the masses. However, considering the theme of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2, many believe Kratos is coming back to Fortnite soon. Here is everything we know about when The God of War may return.

For this information, we turn to reliable Fortnite leaker HYPEX, who is usually correct about theories and leaks. On April 11, HYPEX theorized that Kratos could return to Fortnite for the sixth anniversary of God of War (2018). The game launched on April 20, 2018, giving players a look at an older version of Kratos with the same unadulterated aggression. 



Roughly two years after the game launched, Epic Games collaborated with Sony to give Kratos an in-game Fortnite skin and other cosmetics. Sure enough, it was an instant hit, but Kratos has been absent from the Item Shop since March 19, 2021.



Although HYPEX's theory is unconfirmed, it's at least something to look toward as Epic Games continues rolling out Item Shops daily.

Beyond being one of the most famous video game characters ever, Kratos's Fortnite Pickaxe has become a staple in players' loadouts. Many streamers and competitors, including NickEh30, have made Leviathan Axe their primary. It's safe to say that Fortnite fans are eager to get their hands on this Pickaxe again.

Team Liquid Alienware have signed Team Legacy ahead of the ALGS Split 1 Playoffs in Los Angeles. The transfer, first revealed on Battlefy, ends a long search for an organisation for the all mexican roster.



Team Liquid has not had an ALGS team since the end of 2022. Their return to the Apex competitive scene comes amid a mass re-entry, following Apex Legends joining the Esports World Cup lineup.

Team Liquid Alienware were used to competing at the top of the game when they were last in the ALGS. With this roster, they can expect to be right back into the mix at the upcoming Split 1 Playoffs. Team Liquid Alienware will be amongst the outside favourites to snatch a win in Los Angeles.

Who is the new Team Liquid Alienware ALGS roster?



Most fans will know YanYa, Neazul and Jaguares as the LG Chivas roster. They were one of the more consistent ALGS LAN teams, sometimes flying under the radar in the eyes of fans. They finished fifth at the most recent ALGS Championship in Birmingham. 



This team is known for their immense fighting skill. They can sometimes be inconsistent, but when they get going they are completely unstoppable. They have benefitted from the ALGS and Apex meta becoming more aggressive across the last several updates.

MMR Double Down is back in Dota 2, and the infamous mechanic is now available to every player for free. While it seems simple at first, the system can be incredibly rewarding or punishing. 



It’s also suspiciously easy to use them on accident, but depending on your strategy, that could be a good thing. Here’s everything you should know about MMR Double Downs, from how they work to the best strategies for using them.



MMR Double Down returns



MMR Double Down is a returning Dota 2 mechanic where players double the amount of MMR gained or lost from a ranked match. Players activate tokens by opening the menu at the start of the game and confirming their selection. There is no limit to how many players can double down their MMR change in a single game. There’s no cooldown or time limit for them either. The only limiting factor is the amount players own, and more can be unlocked or purchased as Crownfall goes on.



Valve appears to have played a little practical joke with the Double Down system this time. The developer replaced the Dota Plus prediction UI with the Double Down feature, so if you click the same buttons in the same order, you raise the stakes. Try to control your muscle memory at the start of every match, unless you opt for our second recommended strategy.

The best way to use your MMR Double Down tokens 



Considering the stats behind the system, there are two valid ways of using Double Down tokens to stack up your MMR.



The first and safer option is to use them strategically. Players submit their token at the start of the game after the draft, which can already give you a decent idea of how the game will go. You can also check your teammates to help decide. If you have a mid Undying and a pre-muted offlane, there’s no need to commit. The same is true if you're playing an off role for Role Queue tokens. Just be patient and cash them in when you’re confident of a

MMR Double Down is back in Dota 2, here’s how they work

Mid-April is finally here! It means Valve just released the Dota 2 Crownfall event, including two brand-new Arcanas. One for Vengeful Spirit, and the other for Skywrath Mage. The update features a new comic for the lore enthusiasts, explaining why these two heroes are the chosen ones.



There is also a new quest mode that you can play right now with the most recent update. In resume, you have to play the indicated heroes to earn tokens that will unlock pieces of the story. You will earn treasures, store coins, candies, and more. Keep reading to find out what you get and how to progress!






The Overworld Map for the Dota 2 Crownfall event



On the in-game main screen, you'll find a button leading to the first act of the story. Click it to enter the Overlord map, which should look like this:

The paths are randomized between players to prevent multiple accounts from queuing at the same time with similar token requirements. On this screen, you will find all the information you need to start progressing. To start playing, check what's the first token you will need. For this example, the "running" token will allow us to get our first rewards.



This first mission requires a "Running" token and will grant the first rewards.



How do I get the tokens?



As simple as it sounds: Play the hero required on each category to earn tokens. Even though every hero could grant multiple tokens for different categories, some of them will give twice the amount of the same category.

With a 2-0 win over Northeption and +15 round differential, it brought back memories of the dominating win over Zeta Division at Reykjavik.&nbsp;</p>

During the Challengers Stage 2 run, trexx has flexed onto four unique agents and continuously put up huge numbers. At times, he's been a ruthless entry on Raze or Jett, but can play a more passive Cypher or Sova to balance.&nbsp;</p>



<p>When on a team featuring Saif “Sayf” Jibareel and Leo “Leo” Jannesson, trexx has the highest average ACS (230.7). In games where trexx has a 215+ ACS, Guild has gone 3-1 with a win over M3C. If a Guild run were to happen in Copenhagen, trexx would need to be the catalyst.&nbsp;</p>



<h2>LOUD: Sacy</h2>



<p>Similarly to Optic Gaming, <a href="https://esports.gg/news/gaming/loud-the-new-organization-taking-esports-by-storm-and-leading-a-revolution/">LOUD</a> simply has too many superstars. All five starting members can overwhelm teams by pure skill. The combination of young superstars Felipe “Less” de Loyola and Erick “aspas” Santos is lethal. It’s the definition of a super team, with each player being elite in their roles.</p>

<p>No, Sacy won’t put up the gaudy numbers of his teammates but he’s an essential piece to the puzzle. Excellent in a wide variety of situations and one of the best players with utility in the world. We often see it’s not the most explosive players who win championships, but the ones with top tier situational understanding.&nbsp;</p>



<h2>KRU: NagZ</h2>

He wasn’t always consistent with the Operator on Jett, but stepped up in major moments on the VCT Champs stage.</p>



<p>Despite some inconsistency in 2021, NagZ was gifted the Chamber role in 2022, which has helped play to his individual strengths. His ACS has risen 25 points since Champs (191 &gt; 215 ACS) and he’s able to be an aggressive minded threat next to Angelo “keznit” Mori. He’s gone from a potential liability to one of KRU’s strengths.&nbsp;</p>



<h2>DRX: Zest</h2>



<p>There’s few rosters internationally as well structured as South Korea’s DRX. Each player fundamentally understands their role and virtually no team runs as clean of executes as DRX. If you’re looking to watch superior teamplay, this team has a much deeper understanding of agents, maps and utility than most.</p>

Zest often bottom frags, as is typical with smoke playing IGL’s, however, he’s always trading and setting up <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/drx-buzz/">teammates</a> in the meantime. The 78.8% team KAST in Korean Challengers shows all members are working in cohesion and don’t let opposing teams play the game. </p>



<h2>FPX: Ange1</h2>



<p>FunPlus Phoenix has virtually no weakspots and it’s less on individual efforts and more so on out-thinking their opponents. It’s a team with five heads all needed to survive the more Duelist dependent teams in Europe and their style works.&nbsp;</p>



<p>For example, Kyrylo “ ANGE1” Karasov’s contributions as IGL will constantly make prepping for FPX an impossible task, but difficult mid-rounding as well. ANGE1 is the teams bottom fragger, but his impact on the game is massive. FPX has made counter-strating an art and ANGE1 is the center of their strategy.</p>



<h2>Northeption: Derialy&nbsp;</h2>



<p>Northeption, along with Levitian, is the story VALORANT fans have been wrapped up into coming out of Stage 2 Challengers. Defeating VCT Reykjavik third place <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/zeta-division-crow-vct-reykjavik/">Zeta Division</a> caught the world off guard, but after a deeper love at the new Japanese champions, maybe it shouldn’t have?</p>

<p>As for their most underrated player, Daichi “Derialy” Doi fits the description. Fans will quickly come acquainted with star Chamber Kim “Meteor” Tae-O, but Derialy represents the chaos that is Northeption. Firstly, he plays basically every agent, from entry to smokes to Sentinel. He’s a swiss army knife.&nbsp;</p>



<p><br>Secondly, he’s the one making the plays in micro situations that set up for the heavy hitters to come in and slay. In terms of flexibility, Derialy is one of the most versatile players entering Masters Copenhagen. He understands the strengths of their compositions and will play a huge role if Northeption wants to advance as far as Zeta.&nbsp;</p>



<h2>XERXIA: sScary</h2>



<p>XERXIA is an enigma at the International level. Strong enough to beat any team, but typically finishing at a modest spot. One of two teams to beat the Champions <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/x10-crit-crws-we-just-need-to-play-like-we-scrim/">OpTic at Masters Reykjavik</a>, but not able to make it out of groups.&nbsp;</p>



<p>Much like their APAC counterpart Paper Rex, XERXIA isn’t an easy team to prepare against. Starting with Nutchapon “sScary” Matarat, who is not only one of the most undervalued smoke players worldwide, and a phenomenal lurker as well. His kill numbers on Viper and Astra far surpass any other Controller player (233.8 ACS, 1.43 KD). He’s a constant threat positionally and mechanically strong enough to win duels. </p>

<h2>XSET: BcJ</h2>



<p>XSET broke the <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/xset-sykko-optic/">fourth place curse</a> in large part due to the role of Brendan “BcJ” Jensen. The play of <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/100-thieves-derrek-xset-cryocells-vct/">Matthew “Cryo” Panganiban</a> and Zachary “zekken” Patrone opened the door to a North American title, but the XSET role players stepped up in a major way. The 73.6% team KAST shows a team working off utility and contact well, with BcJ’s Initiator plays doing the dirty work.&nbsp;</p>



<h2>Paper Rex: mindfreak</h2>



<p>Paper Rex were an unknown quantity for Western VALORANT fans entering Masters Reykjavik. No one knew Paper Rex as a team with an advanced set of compositions and plays to bamboozle opposing teams. It’s the explosive, hold-W style of <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/paper-rex-f0rsaken-double-duelist/">Jason “f0rsaken” Susanato</a> and Wang “Jingg” Jing Jie. Each set play is carefully set up by the support players to completely overtake areas and players.</p>

<p>Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart , on the other hand, plays the facilitator. Many opportunities Jingg and f0rsaken get come off mindfreak’s viper utility and his ability to block out vision. Paper Rex is predicated on Jingg and f0rsaken taking aim-duels, while mindfreak puts them in the best position possible.&nbsp;</p>

Beating their domestic rivals, KRU Esports, after four consecutive Finals losses has to give them massive confidence. Starting from playoffs gives them an opportunity to make some noise against top tier competition.&nbsp;</p>

<p><br>Led by their leader and Chamber Vicente “Tacolilla” Compagnon, it’s a team with young, versatile talent. Fabian “Shyy” Usnayo, at 17 years old, was added in June and immediately steps in and contributes. His last minute signing was one of the reasons Leviatán powered through KRU.&nbsp;</p>



<p>It’s a team with fire power, but more importantly, a larger understanding of the macro concepts of VALORANT. The coach Rodrigo “Onur” Dalmagro has come in and taught these players the game at a fundamental level. He's drastically improved their understanding and allowed players like Shyy to shine.</p>

<p>FunPlus Phoenix has confirmed one of its player will be unable to attend Masters copenhagen due to visa issues. Replacing Dmitry “SUYGETSU“ Ilyushin on the team will be Mathias “SEIDER” Seider.</p>

<p>The news comes as a huge hit to the EMEA team who has barely secured Shao’s visa ahead of the Denmark event.&nbsp;</p>



<p><br>The Russia-Ukraine war earlier this year has made it difficult for esports players from Russia to secure visa approvals to travel elsewhere. Even during Reykjavik 1, several EMEA teams could not field complete rosters, partly due to COVID and partly due to visa problems.</p>

<h2 id="h-who-is-seider">Who is Seider?</h2>



<p>FPX <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/suygetsu-valorant-crosshair-and-video-settings/">Suygetsu</a>’s replacement is Danish player, Seider, who has plenty of experience having played for teams such as Alliance, Wave esports and CG esports. </p>



<p>However, VCT Masters Copenhagen will be his biggest event in Valorant to date. The Danish player will hope to step in for the team and help them at least reach the playoffs. However, with the short notice, it remains to be seen how far FPX can go during <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/vct-masters-copenhagen-2022-full-schedule-%f0%9f%94%b4live-updated-results-and-livestream/">Masters 2 Copenhagen</a>.&nbsp;</p>



<p>The first day of VCT Masters Copenhagen began with two big upsets in Group A. While <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/loud-sacy-fade-lol/">LOUD</a> were surprised by the experience and unique Kru playstyle, the Reykjavik Champions, OpTic fell to EMEA powerhouse <a href="https://esports.gg/news/valorant/guild-esports-sayf-vct-masters-copenhagen/">Guild esports</a>. This has set up a rematch of the VCT Masters 1 Reykjavik finals, but this time in an elimination match during the group stage.</p>



<p>FPX will play their next match against XERXIA on July 11 at 5 pm CEST.</p>
