The org has announced his replacement for the Masters 2 event.
FunPlus Phoenix has confirmed one of its player will be unable to attend Masters copenhagen due to visa issues. Replacing Dmitry “SUYGETSU“ Ilyushin on the team will be Mathias “SEIDER” Seider.
Today we share the unfortunate news that SUYGETSU will be unable to attend the group stage of VCT Masters Copenhagen due to visa issues. Whilst we have been working hard on getting SUYGETSU to the event, the time of getting his VISA approval still remains uncertain.
The news comes as a huge hit to the EMEA team who has barely secured Shao’s visa ahead of the Denmark event.
The Russia-Ukraine war earlier this year has made it difficult for esports players from Russia to secure visa approvals to travel elsewhere. Even during Reykjavik 1, several EMEA teams could not field complete rosters, partly due to COVID and partly due to visa problems.

FPX Suygetsu’s replacement is Danish player, Seider, who has plenty of experience having played for teams such as Alliance, Wave esports and CG esports.
However, VCT Masters Copenhagen will be his biggest event in Valorant to date. The Danish player will hope to step in for the team and help them at least reach the playoffs. However, with the short notice, it remains to be seen how far FPX can go during Masters 2 Copenhagen.
The first day of VCT Masters Copenhagen began with two big upsets in Group A. This has set up a rematch of the VCT Masters 1 Reykjavik finals, but this time in an elimination match during the group stage.
FPX will play their next match against XERXIA on July 11 at 5 pm CEST.
