Fnatic vs Team Vitality: Live score, format and more

The VCT EMEA Kickoff is in full swing and the group stage will send only a handful of teams up to the playoffs. In Group C, Fnatic and Team Vitality went up against each other in a match that would decide the direct qualification. Here’s how it played out.

Lotus saw Fnatic dominate Team Vitality after an initial hiccup in the early rounds. Chronicle and Leon were extremely impressive with 17 and 24 frags each to their name. WWith a 1.29 rating, Chronicle had a KDA of +3 but with a 220 ACS, he had a significant impact on the outcome of the match. Vitality made a comeback in the second half when they brought back the score to overtime.

But in overtime, it was Fnatic that won both the rounds to secure a 14-12 victory on Lotus. The 14-12 victory meant that Fnatic now had a one map lead in the series. 

The second map of Ascent was quite unlike the first. Fnatic took a slight lead of 7-5 in the first half, but the second half was all Fnatic. They punished Vitality for their positioning and won all Attacking rounds to ecure a 13-5 victory. 

On Ascent, Alfajer propelled the Fnatic side to victory with a whopping 24 kills to his name. With a 313 ACS, there was little room for error for Team Vitality as they had to face the player’s wrath.

With this victory, Fnatic now move on to the VCT EMEA playoffs. The top two teams from the VCT EMEA Kickoff playoffs will advance to the Masters Madrid taking place later this year.

This is Fnatic’s first match of the Kickoff tournament, while Team Vitality has already secured its first victory against M8. With a roster that has remained consistent  over the last few years, Fnatic has the synergy and the experience coming into this series. They were one of the best teams in the past year although they did not win the event that mattered the most - The VCT Champions 2024. 

Meanwhile, Vitality had a recent roster change when they added Trexx to the roster. How much of an impact the new player will have in this match is something everyone will be watching out for. Vitality does have ceNder as the X-factor on the roster. 

On paper, Fnatic have the upper hand. The team’s focus on improving their strategic gameplay coupled with the firepower from the likes of Alfajer and Derke helps them put up impressive performances. But the long period of break, one cannot easily dismiss Team Vitality either.
