aspas will reportedly leave Leviatán before the end of his contract in 2025 and he’s currently in negotiation with other teams.

Erik "aspas" Santos had expressed his desire to leave the Argentinian team Leviatán before, but now seems to be advancing. According to the Brazilian esports website VSpace, aspas decided to leave Leviatán and is already in negotiations with other teams.

Contract Clauses

Aspas signed a two-year contract with Leviatán in 2023, which means that the Argentinian team will only let aspas transfer to another team if another team pays the termination clause (those values are unknown) or if aspas stays in the team until the end of his contract, which he already said it was not going to happen. But when did this conflict between aspas and Leaviatán start?

Dissatisfaction with Leviatán's organization

At the beginning of this month, aspas talked about his dissatisfaction with the Argentinian team's organization, especially about the team not taking into consideration his opinions about sporting decisions (this could be about the hiring of new players, coaches, etc.). Leviatán denies this information saying that they took aspas opinion in diverse situations.

Controversy with nzr and the new Leviatán's coach

Some people agree that aspas thoughts on leaving sooner started when the departure of Argentine coach Augustin "nzr" Ibarra happened. The Brazilian player and the coach had a close relationship and his departure from the team did not suit well aspas. He even said he hoped that they could play together in the future.

In May, the substitute coach Spanish coach Alex "goked" Kie also left the team. With his departure, aspas proposed to bring Daniel "fRoD" Montaner, the American/Cuban coach who played with him in LOUD, but he was already signed with MIBR.

What is the next step for aspas?

Leviatán and aspas will be negotiating over the next few weeks to determine the future of one of the best VALORANT players nowadays. Aspas can still stay in the Argentinian team but the possibility is very low since he's been openly showing his dissatisfaction with the team.

At some point, aspas also expressed his desire to live in Asia and play in VCT Pacific, which could bring some new options to the table. However, there's still no information about what teams could be interested in the Brazilian player.
