100 Thieves vs LOUD - Finishing off the Knockout Round
Cloud9 and G2 Esports are the first contest of the Knockout Round. This 100 Thieves vs LOUD match follows, and when it is complete, two teams will have been eliminated from VCT Americas Stage 1 Playoff contention.
For 100 Thieves, they did not have a horrible showing throughout the regular season of Stage 1. Huge wins came over the likes of G2, C9, and NRG. But this is VALORANT, so that means nothing really on any given day.
They're up against LOUD, a team with former World Champions and the VCT Americas 2023 victors. LOUD was winless until besting Sentinels just two weeks prior. And they wouldn't even be here if they didn't defeat G2. If they're to salvage their year, this is the time to do.

Read on for a recap and clips that highlight all of the action of this VCT Americas Stage 1 Playoff contest.
Map 1: Bind
LOUD made quick work of 100 Thieves to take the pistol round. A couple of casualties in the next, but they went up by two. A third round followed. An important Thrifty round came in for 100T, which got them rolling to tie it at three a piece.
Several multi-kill rounds were found by Cryocells, with a 4K giving his team the lead. The Thieves ensured at least a tie at halftime, having taken six rounds in a row. Make that seven, as 100T got fired up with more Cryo heroics. Halftime approached with LOUD getting their fourth, and Cryo at 23 kills for 100T.
Thankfully for LOUD, they got the second pistol as well. This set them up to close the gap a bit, but 100T extended their lead slightly, however, with better guns in their hands. 100 Thieves had no problem getting to 10 after that.
A Flawless round is what got them to 11. LOUD used a timeout at this point, but it did not change their fate. A sneaky push onto B from Asuna completely faked LOUD out as the Spike went down on A, giving them map point. And boom, Map 1 went to the Thieves.
Map 2: Icebox
100 Thieves kept up their winning ways into the Icebox pistol round. LOUD could not stop them from taking the next, and then a Flawless followed for three in a row. And guess what? Another Flawless came as the Cryo show continued.
Their defense was just about perfect, getting themselves five rounds in a row. The streak ended at six straight before Saadhak stepped up for LOUD. Soon after, they'd get their second, but the first half was not kind to them.
You should never count LOUD out, and 100 Thieves is well aware. They played the pistol round very cautiously and it cost them. LOUD got their third round. 100T caused some serious damage in the next, but LOUD hung on for their fourth.
100 Thieves rebounded here and got their 11th. Very quickly, they took LOUD down for map and series point. Cryo pushed and punished every member of LOUD that crossed his path. At 12, they had zero issues putting it away, keeping LOUD from their first international event in years.
