Tekken 8 is finally here! However, you may be encountering the Tekken 8 unpacking error while trying to enter the game. Here's everything to know about what's going on.
Tekken 8 unpacking
If you have a pre-ordered edition of Tekken 8 and you've pre-downloaded the game on Steam, then you'll get the Tekken 8 unpacking message when you try to launch the game. This issue occurs because Steam only allowed you to download the encrypted version of Tekken 8 before its launch.
How to fix Tekken 8 unpacking error
- Launch the Steam client
- Go to your Steam library
- Click on the "Downloads" option
- Move Tekken 8 up in your download queue
- Let Steam unpack all of Tekken 8
- Launch the game as normal
To fix the Steam unpacking error, you must get the decryption file of Tekken 8. This requires letting Steam unpack the game. Open the Steam client and go to your Steam library. Next, hover over that tab and click on the "Downloads" option. Move Tekken 8 up in your download queue. After the unpacking download is finished, you can launch the game normally.
