Tekken 8’s v2.05 update adds the long-awaited character win rate tracker in Ranked Mode, fixes hitboxes, improves visuals, and even corrects Asuka’s neck. While players welcome these QoL changes, many remain frustrated by the lack of balance updates after Season 2.
Tekken 8 v2.05 patch notes reveal hitbox fixes, visual tweaks, and even a long-overdue correction to Asuka’s neck. However, it's the addition of a character vs character win-rate that is the real gem.
Yet, the noticeable lack of extensive character balance changes - to address issues created from the infamous Season 2 launch - have left a vocal part of the Tekken 8 community frustrated.

Tekken 8: Character win rate feature added
Tekken 8's Ranked Mode by default has tracked your character win rate but did not track your win rate against specific characters. Until now, thank you Bandai Namco.
* Added “CHARACTER WIN RATE”
– You can now check your win rate against each character in “RANKED MATCH.”
As part of the Tekken 8 v2.05 update you will be able to see your character vs character match-up data for ranked matches. The only caveat is the data will only display for Season 2 onwards, and you can not retroactively check Season 1 statistics.
Prior to this update, the only way to find out your character match-up strength and weaknesses was to rely on unofficial 3rd party solutions such as Kekken and EWGF. However, the accuracy of the data was always not 100% certain.
All we need now is a way to officially check Tekken 8 Rank Distribution.

Asuka's neck is officially fixed

In other news, Asuka's neck has finally been fixed. When I say fixed, I mean she now actually has one. An unintentional consequence of the Beach Fun Pack swimsuit DLC was that players noticed discrepancies in the physical appearance of the female cast. Most notably, Asuka.
"For Asuka's neck area, making a large correction all at once would cause significant breakdowns including in customization," said Tekken 8 Game Director Katsuhiro Harada. "For the time being, we have limited adjustments to fine-tuning the shoulders, upper arms, and neck."
The bust size of the female cast also seemed off, another "issue" Tekken 8's Game Director addressed directly on social media.
"We have corrected the issue where the bust parameters for some characters were reflecting the same values, and made adjustments to align with each character's original characteristics."
TEKKEN 8 v2.05.00 Patch Notes
Outside of Asuka's new neck, Tekken 8's new update includes balance changes, but primarily focused around hitboxes and collision detection. The v2.05.00 Patch Notes also mention improvements to sound effects, voiceovers and visual effects.
King's running exploder cross-up removed, Bryan's df 2,1 nerfed
The change to King's running exploder cross-up → f+1+2 received mixed reviews. The attack has historically allowed King to hit players immediately behind him, this feature has been removed. Some legacy players felt the unintended cross-up was part of his lore, while others felt it was a bug that needed to be removed. Bryan's counter-hit launcher df 2,1 also had this feature removed.

Community frustration over balance
After reading the Tekken 8 v2.05 patch notes, many players felt frustrated at the lack of balance changes in the patch notes addressing systemic balance issues in Season 2. For context, Bandai Namco said balance changes would be put on hold to avoid impacting competitions such as the Esports World Cup. However, with the EWC now all wrapped up, players were left bewildered at the lack of character balance.
The Tekken 8 v2.05 patch notes went live on Sept. 2, 2025. However, players still wait patiently for the Season 2 balance patch to rule them all.
