Azucena’s FF3 attack finally nerfed in Patch 1.03.02. Bandai Namco also revert collision changes. Maintenance and update times inside.
Tekken 8 will be undergoing Patch 1.03.02 on April 16, so here are the patch notes and the maintenance times in case you were curious. Overall it is a minor patch but it has resolve two frustrations Tekken 8 fans had; Azucena's FF3 and the changes to wall collisions in the previous patch.
While this patch is small, we do know that character buffs are coming in version 1.04 according to the developers.
Tekken 8 1.03.02 Patch Notes
While the previous patch introduced The Tekken Fight Pass and Eddy as a playable character, Patch 1.03.02 is a very small patch. However, it does deliver a nerf to Azucena's ridiculous FF3 attack which is widely considered to be overpowered, and a common move abused by Azucena players.
Changes to Azucena's FF3 attack:
- The recovery frames have been increased by "5F".
- The forward movement distance after the end of the attack duration has been reduced.
Bandai Namco revert changes to wall collisions
The only other major change is to collision detection between characters and walls. In the previous patch Bandai Namco changed how easy it was to stage break and interact with walls.
The change to collision detection in version 1.03.01 was unpopular with the Tekken 8 community, and many felt it was too sweeping of a change when it appeared to be targeting just two characters; Devil Jin and Kazuya. It also led to inconsistencies about when the wall or floor would break or react. Fortunately, Bandai Namco have listened to the community and will undo that change in version 1.03.02.
Reverted an adjustment from version 1.03.01 regarding collision detection between characters and walls.

No more high-level player spamming Eddy in low ranks
One minor change that might bring a smile to the faces of the lesser experience players in version 1.03.02 is that Eddy's starting rank will now match your other characters. If you played Eddy in version 1.03.01 he started at Beginner, regardless of the level of your other characters. This meant that many top level players were obliterating low level players while testing out the new character and going through the ranks. This will no longer be the case.
The starting rank for the playable character "EDDY GORDO" in online modes will be matched with existing characters.

Common | Tornado | Behavior | Reverted an adjustment from version 1.03.01 regarding collision detection between characters and walls. |
Azucena | F, F, 3 | Balance | As a countermeasure against this attack, we initially implemented balancing adjustments in version 1.03.01 with the assumption of "evading sideways and then counterattacking." Eddy | Heat Dash | Behavior | The ability to activate Heat Dash despite whiffing in specific circumstances has been corrected. The behaviors of the dash and back dash when Heat Dash was activated under certain circumstances have been corrected. |
Eddy | Dash / Back Dash | Behavior | Adjusted dash inputs to address unintended behaviors. |
Zafina | Back Dash | Behavior | Due to minor adjustments, expectations for this move have returned to v1.02.01 state. |
