Lidia gameplay

Around a month ago, we got the Lidia gameplay trailer — during Combo Breaker 2024. The character looks super fun to play! She has a plethora of quick jabs, which seemingly easily combos into kicks and some especially powerful hits enhanced with colorful energy.

Lidia Sobieska is especially effective at close range, with an offensive, rushdown-like style.

During this TEKKEN Talk, the developers played Lidia and explained her moveset (starting from around 43th minute of the stream). You can see the karate style of this character and some of her straightforward moves in action.

Similarly to Eddy Gordo, Lidia has a few stances in TEKKEN 8 — they lead to different follow-ups, and changing stances should confuse opponents and help Lidia penetrate their defense. A big difference in comparison to TEKKEN 7 is how fluid the switch between Lidia’s stances is, so it’s easier to change them for the mix-up game.

Lidia has a power-up sign right under her health bar. It’s active after using certain moves, and this feature is transferred to other rounds. The power-up ability of Lidia reduces her usage of the Heat gauge and increases the damage of some moves.

A downside of Lidia is the lack of low attacks. She has only punishable options.

In general, Lidia is an easy-to-play character, even for beginners to TEKKEN 8. Still, she is also deep, giving good tools for experienced and skilled competitors.
