TEKKEN 8 at The MIXUP 2024 results

double played a somewhat unusual character at the top-level TEKKEN esports: Marshall Law. His style was offensive, of the rushdown type. It brought the Japanese player to the top 8 winners side. And it helped double win the semi-final against Bilal (Bryan). Even being super effective in defense did not save Bilal — he blocked almost all slides of Law. Thanks to the variety of the mixup tools, double could regularly find openings and deliver damage.

JeonDDing played Eddy Gordo in his semi-final against Oracle_99. It was a back-and-forth match, even if JeonDDing got a clear victory there.

double continued his mixup pressure in the winners final vs JeonDDing. It didn't always work, though. In many rounds, double had to demonstrate his comeback skills — and they are extraordinary. Despite having some really close rounds, double won the match and proceeded to the grand final.

JeonDDing defeated his fellow Korean player in the losers final. LowHigh had some good rounds with Dragunov, especially in game 2. But JeonDDing still managed to recover and reach the match-point situation. In game 3, LowHigh risked to take Steve, who doesn't look like a good matchup vs Eddy. It worked for a while. LowHigh won that game, but then JeonDDing adapted and got the match victory.

Grand Final

The match started like a continuation of the previous fight between these two players: double pressured JeonDDing and got a game. Then JeonDDing did a brave move and took Reina out of his pocket (even if ULSAN considers her week now). It worked perfectly! double got destroyed after the character switch. To save the situation, he switched himself — but, nope, Shaheen did not suit here at all.

After picking up his main TEKKEN 8 character, Marshall Law, again, double looked much better vs the tool set of Reina. He still lost the match and moved to the grand final reset, but double got some confidence back.

JeonDDing lost game 1 and moved to his main too. The rest of the match (and the tournament) was back-and-forth. Somehow, double managed to be slightly better — just enough to win TEKKEN 8 The MIXUP 2024.

Esports World Cup 2024

This tournament is the last general qualifier for the TEKKEN 8 EWC 2024 event. Two players will get their invites. Theoretically, they must finish on the top at The MIXUP 2024. But practically, it may be even simpler to qualify for the EWC as many top-level competitors have already earned their spots. If they get top 2 placements again, even being 3rd, 4th, or 5th may be enough.

It is interesting to take a look at the list of TEKKEN 8 players at the EWC 2024.

The TEKKEN World Tour 2024 Master event

We have had quite a few TWT 2024 Master events already, but the fight for standing points is far from being over. The MIXUP 2024 also has this high status. Therefore, many famous competitors from all over the world are going to participate in this tournament.

Having Evo 2024 in a week still changes the plans for some players, as it may be difficult to make these trips in such a short period. This opens opportunities for other participants to earn points and reach the top 20 placement in the general standings to qualify for the TWT 2024 Finals.
