With just a few big qualifiers left for the TEKKEN World Tour 2025 (TWT 2025), the competitive excitement is quite tangible! At Evo France 2025, TEKKEN 8 reveals gameplay of the next DLC character, Mairy Zo.

Like with other Evo events, we had a Master+ TWT 2025 qualifier in France. It’s the highest-level tournament, offering the most points for the top participants.

To battle for this chance to strengthen their positions on the global leaderboard, the best TEKKEN 8 players in the world were competing at Evo France 2025. Arslan Ash, ATIF, Knee, JeonDDing, EDGE, and many others were in attendance.

Nina and Anna: Seven Evo titles for Arslan Ash

The legendary TEKKEN player from Pakistan, Arslan Ash, won TEKKEN 8 Evo 2025 in Las Vegas. And he didn't stop with this achievement. In France, the guy secured his 7th Evo title, which is an incredible record!

During the tournament, Arslan Ash played Anna and Nina. In the Round 3 pools, Kaneandtrench sent Arslan to the lower brackets. Quite notable that Arslan Ash defeated this opponent in the lower quarterfinal.

Throughout the final top 8 part, it looked like Arslan Ash's defense was getting stronger with each round. He recovered after a game loss versus Qudans. KingReyJr and Fergus had big difficulties to just finish their rounds after pretty good starts.

In the grand final of TEKKEN 8 Evo France 2025, Arslan Ash defeated JeonDDing. The opponent recovered alright to bring the match to game 5. Still, it was all JeonDDing could do this time.

Asuka and Yoshimitsu of Europe

Like at other tournaments at Evo France 2025, TEKKEN 8 proved the competitive power of European players. It's interesting to note two specific characters.

  • Two players were on Asuka, and they reached the top 4: Fergus and KingReyJr. Earlier, Tibetano won The MIXUP 2025, and he also played Asuka.
  • Yoshimitsu may be somewhat inconsitent on the top level, but here, we had two Yoshimitsu players: Kaneandtrench and Sin. Kaneandtrench even managed to defeat Arslan Ash in pools.

The roar of Armor King and Mairy Zo gameplay trailer

Beyond the competitive excitement, Evo France featured a highly anticipated reveal. Bandai Namco Entertainment showed the gameplay trailer for Mairy Zo before the top 8 brackets.

This girl from Madagascar is the next TEKKEN 8 DLC character. Her facial features caused some discussions in the community, and the developers changed them substantially.

The roar of Armor King is almost heard in the online matches! He comes to save the TEKKEN 8 players from the common frustration of Season 2 and disappointment from receiving Fahkumram as a DLC. The release date is Oct. 14.

There will be only four Master-tier qualifiers left in the TWT 2025 after Evo France 2025. Super Tournament 2025 is arguably the most interesting among them, as it happens in Korea. This country is well known for its exceptional TEKKEN competition!
