It looks like the developers are desperate to please the fans. TEKKEN 8 broke the tradition of gradual character reveals. Armor King is coming!

One short reveal at a big esports event made the future of TEKKEN 8 look much brighter. People wanted to get Armor King as a DLC character, and here he is — the next one in Season 2, coming after Fahkumram.

Sure, not everyone is happy. The mess of drastic changes has its emotional consequences even after decent fixes. Some players are rather displeased to see TEKKEN 8 still repeating the DLC history of TEKKEN 7 instead of digging deeper into the series’ legacy.

Armor King was revealed during the TEKKEN 8 Combo Breaker 2025 tournament. People in the venue were literally jumping and celebrating this announcement. The next DLC character was shown at the end of the Fahkumram trailer.

TEKKEN 8 Armor King in the Fahkumram gameplay trailer

The gameplay reveal of TEKKEN 8's Fahkumram creates more hype around the character than the initial announcement. We still have the same aggressive Muay Thai fighter — in the game that suffers from supporting offensive play style a little too much. However, playing Fahkumram seems to be a fun experience!

The guy is dangerous at close range. He unleashes his mighty kicks to deal damage, and he uses quick punches to open opponents up.

Fahkumram in TEKKEN 8 channels red energy through his body, granting him additional armor and boosting the power of his strongest attacks.

Armor King is shown at the very end of that video. It’s a very short reveal: the character jumps onto the arena and takes his fighting stance. At first glance at those shiny boots, TEKKEN 8 fans rejoice and reexamine their opinion about the Season 2 Character Pass.

Armor King in TEKKEN

Story-wise, we have two Armor Kings in the TEKKEN series, similar to King. The first one was killed, and his younger brother took the same costume and the same name.

Armor King is a professional wrestler, a Mexican luchador who wears a jaguar mask. Unlike King, this guy prefers appearing in public in shiny armor. His mask has eyes of different colors: it’s a reference to an old eye injury.

As for gameplay, Armor King is an offence-focused wrestler in previous TEKKEN games. He utilizes King’s tools but simplifies them in terms of input. The character is more about striking first and pressuring his opponent. Having some Mishima-style moves is pretty helpful for this.

We should discover more about Armor King TEKKEN 8 gameplay details with future reveals.

Considering the release date for Fahkumram, which is July 10, we can expect to get Armor King in Autumn 2025. With this timing, a gameplay reveal may happen at the biggest fighting games esports event of the year: Evo Las Vegas, from Aug. 1 to Aug. 3.
