Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that registrations are open for the Tekken 8 Closed Network Tests (CNT). This will allow invited players to try Tekken 8 early and influence the game’s development.

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced some exciting news for Tekken players: Tekken 8 will be undergoing closed network tests in July. The closed network tests will be an opportunity for players who sign up to experience Tekken 8 before it releases.

As of now, there isn't a solid release date for Tekken 8 yet. So closed network tests are a great chance to try the game out well in advance. The Closed Network Tests will take place in the form of sessions across different platforms on specific dates. Players who sign up for the tests will get a chance to play the game and participate in the tests on their preferred/owned platform.

Tekken 8 Closed Network Test Dates

The Closed Network Tests will commence in sessions from July 21. The dates and session times for the tests are as follows.

  • Week 1 - PS5 Only
    July 21, 1 am to July 24, 12 am PDT
    (CNT will not be playable between 1 pm to 4 pm PDT on July 21 due to server maintenance)
  • Week 2 - PS5, Xbox Series S/X, PC (via Steam)
    July 28, 1 am to July 31, 12 am PDT
    (CNT will not be playable between 1 am to 4 am PDT on July 29 due to server maintenance)

CNT to feature 16 playable characters and 5 stages

The CNT will allow players to try 16 playable characters and select between 5 playable stages. Additionally, the tests will allow players to participate in the ranked matchmaking system and try Claudio, the new character.

The five playable stages include Urban Square (Evening), Yakushima, Rebel Hangar, Sanctum, and Arena. As per the press release, Tekken 8 will feature a new "aggressive" fight system that rewards an offense-oriented play style. It promises to be the most visually stunning and visceral Tekken combat experience yet. Additionally, Tekken 8 will also be the first title in the series to feature cross-play, allowing players to compete against each other across platforms.
