Is Spotify not working? According to thousands of users online and Spotify status trackers, the app is currently experiencing some issues.

At the time of publishing this article, Spotify is not working for a significant number of users. According to Spotify’s official support page on social media, the team behind the app is aware of the ongoing issues.

"Hi everyone! We're aware of issues affecting the Spotify app and website loading," SpotifyCares stated on X. "The right team is on it and working on a fix."

The post then linked to a community page, further acknowledging that the app and website are not loading. The page notes that users are reporting issues with the app failing to load properly and experiencing playback problems. Others are also having trouble accessing the support site.

Meanwhile, the SpotifyStatus account on X assured users that reports suggesting a security hack are false.

At the moment, Spotify’s status is "under investigation." Spotify also noted that their technical team is looking into the matter. Users are encouraged to subscribe to the official community thread for updates.

In the community thread, users are reporting that the app is not working on both mobile and desktop devices, with many unable to log in or load content. Playback often fails or stops after just a few seconds. Some users are unable to access the website or support pages entirely. Others are mentioning extremely slow performance and frequent error messages across all platforms.

According to Downdetector, the service experienced an outage spike on April 16 at around 9:14 a.m. ET, which is the same as 6:14 a.m. PT.
