We tested the GTPlayer GT905 RGB Gaming Chair for two weeks to see if it delivers real comfort at a budget price. The results were genuinely surprising.
Picking the right gaming chair can be daunting, especially when prices range from budget-friendly to too expensive even for a birthday gift. With so many brands promising all-day comfort, solid ergonomics, and premium build quality, it’s hard to know where real value lies.
I had the opportunity to test the GTPlayer GT905 RGB Gaming Chair, part of the Aura RGB Series, over a two-week period. Priced significantly lower than many flagship gaming chairs, the GT905 aims to deliver comfort, stability, and slick RGB lighting without breaking the bank. After daily use for both gaming and casual use, here’s how it holds up.
Comfort & Ergonomics: Can the GT905 handle long gaming sessions?
The big question: is the Aura RGB Series GT905 RGB Gaming Chair comfortable? Yes — surprisingly so. My previous chair was the Razer Iskur V2, which is double the price, but in terms of pure comfort it's not too far off. I was pleasantly surprised by just how comfortable and stable the GT905 was.
You'll have two levers to play with. The LIFT level adjusts the height which has a decent range of options. I'm quite tall at 6ft 3, but I had no problem adjusting the seat to match my monitor.

The second Back Recline Function lever (marked RCL) is really ingenious and probably my favourite aspect of the chair. It will tilt the chair based on your movements, so if you're just chilling watching a show or spinning around to have a conversation with friends and family, it's a great setting. It also will rise up as you do, so you won't have to fiddle to get the chair back to the normal position as is the case with other gaming chairs.

Things to note, while the material on the armrest is very supportive and cozy, the positions are fixed so you can not raise or lower them.
In terms of heat & breathability this chair is brilliant. Even after a long gaming session the chair did not feel hot or sweaty, probably credit to the materials.
Build Quality & Materials
Frame Strength: Strong
Wheels/Base: Smooth
Upholstery Quality: Very good
Stability / Noise: Small creaks
As for build quality and materials, the Aura RGB Series GT905 RGB Gaming Chair definitely impressed for this review. The frame is strong and the wheels and the base had no issues.
The upholstery quality was much better than I expected and very closely matched the promotional material.
Stability wise felt very safe. In regards to noise if you're making a forceful movement backwards like a sudden jerk when its locked in place it can creak slightly, but if just using casually it's very quiet.
RGB Lighting: The core appeal of LED Gaming Chairs

The RGB Lighting is obviously a big part of the appeal of the chair. The LED lights are masterfully hidden within the materials of the chair along the sides, so it does not impact comfort. To enable the lights simply link the USB connector to the back of the chair.
The cable itself is about 3-4 metres long which is decent. The RGB lighting cable is located on the back of the chair, but there is a pouch for you to slot it away nicely if you don't plan to use the RGB/LED gaming chairs feature.
The RGB lighting can be customized via an app called LYNCK on the Apple Store, or you can just plug-and-play with the default setting, which I found totally enough.
Assembly & Setup
Ease of Assembly: 9.5/10
Time to Build: 40 minutes
Instructions Quality: Excellent
Assuming you've got some basic knowledge of assembling products - as in you've built a few IKEA products before kind of level - this light up gaming chair should take you no more than 30-40 minutes to assemble on your own.
The GT905 instructions are excellent, very clear to follow. Plus, the instructions also offer tips to avoid common mistakes during assembly.
My personal tip is to be aware that certain screws are a similar length but not the same width! There are a total of only 26 screws along with 4 washers and 4 caps. Nothing crazy. You'll have the GTPlayer GT905 assembled in no time!
Pros & Cons
Pros
- Excellent value for money
- Great reclining range
- Super comfortable and sturdy
- Wheels very smooth
- Customizable RGB/LED Lighting
Cons
- Lumbar pillow has no strap
- Foot rest basic and not particularly useful
- armrest position fixed
Overall, the GTPlayer GT905's pros outweigh the cons, particularly given the price point of the LED gaming chair. The product itself is very well-made and more importantly very comfortable, which was pleasantly surprising. It's easy to move around and the Back Recline Function works really perfectly, giving you that option to be locked-in gamer/work mode or chill mode.
I only had two main gripes with the chair.
The first was that the lumbar pillow has no strap to fix it to the chair, this means every time you get up it flops down and you have to put it back. Small issue, mildly annoying, but definitely not a deal breaker.
The second was with the footrest. While functional, I never found myself using it as it is pretty basic. That said, if you plan to use this for gaming, what kind of serious gamer is getting locked in while resting their feet up? Very few.
