TFT Set 16: Lore & Legends is all about Runeterra’s major moments throughout history!
Teamfight Tactics (TFT) will soon bring players back to Runeterra with its new Lore & Legends set! TFT Set 16 was revealed in a cinematic during the 2025 League of Legends World Championship (LoL Worlds 2025) in Chengdu over the weekend. The announcement hyped up the TFT Paris Open slated for this December as well.
TFT Set 16 release date
TFT Set 16, also known as Lore & Legends, will release on Dec. 3 on PC and mobile. This will coincide with TFT patch 16.1.
"Teamfight Tactics: Lore & Legends is a celebration of Runeterra and some key moments in its history," Julien Camaraza, the lead set designer for TFT Set 16, said. "We’ve done Runeterran sets before, but this takes things to a whole new level. I don’t want to say too much, but I think there’s something in this set that will excite every kind of player."
TFT Set 16 will follow Pengu and friends as they participate in some of Runeterra's greatest moments throughout time.
TFT Lore & Legends features Mako
The Lore & Legends medley will feature Mako, who is known for his work on Arcane's soundtracks. Mako even wrote and produced the Legends Never Die anthem for LoL Worlds 2017 and co-created Rise for LoL Worlds 2018. Did you know that he worked on the 2023 anthem with NewJeans and LoL Worlds 2025's Sacrifice featuring G.E.M. as well?
"It's always awesome to collaborate with Riot Games and I had a great time diving back into the world of Runeterra with Teamfight Tactics," Mako said. "We wanted to deliver an epic medley to really hit the feeling of these Little Legends witnessing these key moments, and I think we did it.
In the newly-released TFT Set 16 Lore & Legends cinematic below, Mako's work plays in the background. What's special about it is that the track even remixes Warriors, Still Here, and Bite Marks.
Major TFT Set 16 reveals at Tactician's Crown
According to Riot Games, more TFT Set 16 reveals will happen soon during TFT Set 15's Tactician's Crown tournament. This event will go from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16. The TFT Paris Open from Dec. 12 to Dec. 14 will then feature a $100,000 prize pool, more than 768 players, and lots of activities for the community to enjoy. These will include an artist alley, meet and greets, plus watch parties.
"Lore & Legends is the biggest set we’ve ever done, delivering over 15 years of Runeterra lore through a unique mechanic and unforgettable champions," TFT game director Peter Whalen said. "I can’t wait for players to play and then join in for the ultimate celebration of Teamfight Tactics at the TFT Paris Open in December."
