Riot Games gave players a sneak peek into TFT’s 2026 roadmap. Here’s what players can expect in TFT Sets 17, 18, 19, and more!
The Teamfight Tactics (TFT) Paris Open 2025 event has concluded, but that just means another year of TFT content and esports action! Here is what's next for the game and a closer look at the TFT 2026 roadmap.
TFT 2026 roadmap
On Dec. 14, Riot Games gave players a sneak peek at the TFT 2026 roadmap. The year will begin with the Revival: Festival of Beasts mode for Lunar Revel. TFT Set 17 will then release in the spring with a theme centered around the cosmos. This will be followed by the summer celebration of the game's seven-year anniversary. Set 18 will arrive in the same season and focus on a mysterious forest, too. As for Set 19, it will involve music. The year will then conclude with the TFT Vegas Open.
TFT Set 17 release date
As noted, TFT Set 17 will arrive sometime in the spring of 2026. Senior game director Peter Whalen shared more information about this, noting that players should expect a major update to the Carousel.
"Looking forward to next year's sets, after our journey through Runeterra, we'll be looking to the cosmos and bargaining for favor through a brand-new approach to a long-time TFT system -- the Carousel," Whalen said.

TFT Set 18: A mysterious forest and set mechanic update
Executive producer Geoff Virtue added to this, hinting that TFT Set 18 will have players head out to a forest to build upon the magic of a past set mechanic. This set will arrive sometime in the summer of 2026.
"We'll be taking a jaunt through a mysterious verdant forest to build upon the magic of a set mechanic from the past," he said.

TFT Set 19: The ultimate music collab?
And in terms of TFT Set 19, it will arrive in the winter of 2026 and be all about music. Will bands like HEARTSTEEL, True Damage, Pentakillm, K/DA end up collaborating? Only time will tell.
"Closing off the year, immerse yourself in melodies from around the world as we embark on a global music tour," Whalen said. "Grab your ticket exclusively through the Convergence."

TFT Vegas Open 2026
Both Whalen and Virtue talked about Riot Games' ambitions for TFT Vegas Open 2026 as well, noting that the event will have more players than ever for its return to the city. For context, Riot Games had the inaugural TFT Open tournament in Las Vegas back in 2023. Next year's showdown will mean three years since that event was held there.
Back in 2023, the MGM Grand welcomed 512 players. With the TFT Paris Open 2025 event that just ended with a record turnout of 768 competitors, it will be interesting to see how future TFT esports events build on that.

TFT to get more PvE experiences
As for other updates to look forward to, Virtue said that TFT will ship some tech and tool upgrades in 2026. Beyond 2026, Whalen revealed that there will be more player versus environment (PvE) experiences, too.
"The team has big ambitions to continue developing alternate ways to play TFT, including more PvE experiences," Whalen said. "But that means it's going to take us a little longer to show off anything. So don't expect it to appear on this year's roadmap. We'll keep you updated as we climb this mountain."
