Riot Mortdog announced a patch that will go live at around 1 p.m. PDT tomorrow.

Teamfight Tactics Set 8.5 launched less than a week ago and has run into its fair share of early-set woes. The team has been hard at work in order to implement short-term and long-term solutions. Lead designer of Teamfight Tactics, Stephen "Mortdog" Mortimer, sent out a series of tweets earlier today announcing an upcoming B-patch. He included notes and the reasoning behind the changes. Teamfight Tactics patch 13.6b is set to deploy March 28 at around 1 p.m. PDT.

B-patch notes

The goal of Teamfight Tactics patch 13.6b is to put the game into a healthier and more enjoyable state for players as the development team works to implement more long-term solutions for the identified problems.

The largest issues of this patch revolve around three main carries: Vex, Warwick, and Draven. Mortdog believes that the issues with these compositions stem from the synergies that have created an unhealthy environment. The B-patch will be nerfing Admin, Hacker, Laser Corps, Mascot, and Riftwalker, as these synergies currently give unhealthy advantages to the compositions that Vex, Warwick, and Draven currently thrive in.

The most significant synergy changes to note are:

  • Hacker - Breakpoints: 2/3/4/5 >>> 3/4/5/6
  • LaserCorps - LaserCorps Heart and Soul temporarily disabled
  • Mascot - Healing per Mascot on the side: 1.5% >>> 1%
  • Overtuned Admins nerfed (See Below)

Other changes reflect weaknesses or strengths in the meta deemed necessary to fine tune.

What about patch 13.7?

Mortdog also shared there will be upcoming changes in patch 13.7 that will serve as more long-term solutions to the issues. For example, the change to the hacker breakpoints is serving as a temporary fix to make way for a change that the team is only able to make in a larger patch.

"I can list more, but all of this is to say that we're fully aware these changes aren't the correct perfect changes. However if the choice is do SOMETHING now and fix again in 13.7, or do nothing and wait, TFT has always preferred action. So we did what we could."

The balance team hopes that players will be able to enjoy a healthier game in the week leading up to patch 13.7 on April 5.
