A blazing power joins Street Fighter 6 in Season 3! C. Viper benefits from a quick and aggressive playstyle, but her success comes with high technical skills.

Crimson Viper is a bright gem of the Year 3 Character Pass. She catches the eye easily with her prominent appearance and high-pressure gameplay. C. Viper truly stands out from the crowd, and that’s a lot, considering how awesome the other DLC characters of SF6 Season 3 are.

The Spy returns: C. Viper's Release Date in Street Fighter 6

C. Viper is available in Street Fighter 6 starting from Oct. 15. She is well-known to Street Fighter 6 players and the fighting games community thanks to her debut in SFIV. Crimson Viper is a code name for a spy who works for the U.S. government. The woman should join S.I.N. and gather information on weapon research of Shadaloo’s development division.

Sure, the organizations Crimson Viper appears to work for are evil. However, the spy herself is on the side of good guys, even if her explosive temper doesn’t always show it.

How to unlock SF6 Crimson Viper: A quick guide

The best way to add C. Viper to your Street Fighter 6 roster is to purchase one of two Year 3 Passes.

  • Year 3 Character Pass includes all four characters of SF6 Season 3. In addition to C. Viper, you get Sagat (already available), Alex, and Ingrid. The price is $29.99.
  • Year 3 Ultimate Pass also comes with C. Viper and other characters. This offer includes Outfits 2 and 3 for Season DLC and a new stage. The price is $47.99.

It is possible to unlock C. Viper individually in SF6 for the in-game premium currency Fighting Coins. The Year 3 Passes are a more cost-effective choice.

C. Viper gameplay breakdown: Fire and lightning of rushdown pressure

Capcom Viper revealed a gameplay trailer for Crimson Viper during Tokyo Game Show 2025. In the video, C. Viper fights a few opponents to highlight her playstyle.

In SF6, C. Viper is as much of a technical character as she was in Street Fighter IV. She brings feints and precise-timing sequences with her.

  • Feints will let you cancel Special animations to fake actions, provoke mistakes from your opponent, and punish them with a different move.
  • Combos of C. Viper require tight timing with complex sequences. You need to go an extra mile in practice to reach the technical perfection needed for the character.

Managing Drive Gauge is more complicated with C. Viper, as she uses this resource for some moves. For example, her High Jump costs some Drive energy — it’s a great combo extension to close distance and apply Viper’s signature close-range pressure. It can be used after feints.

  • C. Viper is overwhelming with her aggressiveness. She benefits from the “right in your face” style, adding the level of impossible mixups thanks to feinting Specials.

C. Viper’s key moveset

In the gameplay trailer, we can see C. Viper’s key moves. From the aesthetic point of view, her moveset nicely combines lighting strikes and fire attacks.

  • Seismic Hammer: The shockwave goes on the ground and launches opponents on hit — for a combo continuation with Super Jump and Burning Kick.
  • Thunder Knuckle: This quick lightning punch goes under projectiles. It has an overhead follow-up. The Heavy version is an anti-air.
  • Burning Kick: Crimson Viper jumps and becomes throw-invincible. She can move forward with this move or float over the opponent to avoid some anti-airs. Burning Kick is safe on block and has two follow-ups: a forward dash to continue pressure or a plus on block kick to go for mixups.
  • Focus Force: The new signature move creates a protective barrier to absorb a hit with armor and then launch a counterattack.
  • Limit Decoupler: In addition to basic damage, Level 1 Super has a special install. It lets C. Viper use Super Jump and Special follow-ups without spending Drive meter and thus significantly extend offense.

Closer to the release date, Capcom should publish the official character guide for C. Viper. It will highlight even more details.

After a period of intense practice, we can witness C. Viper fighting on the pro stage. She may even make it to Capcom Cup 12, which will happen from March 11 to March 15.
