Shroud has postponed his Fragathon to ensure safety of guests and people involved with production, the streamer announced.

Shroud has postponed his Fragathon stream in light of the ongoing California wildfires. He said he prioritized the safety of people associated with the substation and also apologized to his community for the disruption.

Shroud postpones Fragathon

On January 4 this year, Shroud announced a Fragathon with proceeds to go towards charity in memory of his late father. All of the proceeds will go to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. With Shroud having set up a LAN center at his place and promising to invite many friends and streamers over to help the cause, it was almost sure to be a massive success. However, with the California Wildfires causing havoc, Shroud has decided to postpone the Fragathon for now.

Putting a quick pause on the Fragathon stream. We lost power and the storm is still really bad. With road closures and fires we need to ensure everyone stays safe including production and guests. Sorry gamers, we’ll be back as soon as we can!

He did not mention how long the postponement would last, but fans can expect more information once the fire is contained and people are able to return back to the impacted areas. The stream had already raised more than $1,000,000 in just four days and was scheduled to run through the month until the 31st.

A few hours before the announcement, Shroud also tweeted about the harsh weather conditions, a precursor to the ultimate decision to postpone Fragathon.
