Popular influencer and streamer, Pokimane, recently bought herself her very own engagement ring, but why?
The streaming world is filled with trolls. If you have even just been in someone's stream chat, you have probably seen someone join in just to aggravate the streamer, saying nonsense that will make them mad. Well, Pokimane, the popular streamer, decided to combat those trolls by buying herself an engagement ring, due to people trying to attack her for being single at her age.
So, what exactly does this flex mean? And why would she have done it?
Pokimane reveals engagement ring she bought for herself to combat the trolls
Pokimane, who is only 29 years old, has been getting crap on the internet for years now for being her age and being single. I would assume that the majority of these trolls are 16-year-old incels who will not leave their parents' basement until their mid to late 20s, but who knows.
However, Pokimane, who has created quite a career and name for herself within the world of video games and streaming, has decided to combat these trolls by getting herself her own engagement ring.
"The person you are engaged to in your entire lifetime is your damn self," said Pokimane in a recent TikTok video she posted, revealing the new ring. "So, this is me proposing to myself."
Pokimane then showcased her new engagement ring, which was more than shining. She then proceeded to try on the ring and show it off to her fans, while also commenting on her future.
"I am going to have the opportunity to give my future husband the sickest engagement ring for men that there ever was, and I cannot wait."
Trolls respond, still trying to attack Pokimane in the comments
Unfortunately, this video was met with quite a few attacks from trolls on the internet, many commenting on how they view this as engagement farming instead of getting engaged (terrible pun, but I swear I am just copying a comment I saw on her video).
However, Pokimane has not made a single comment back to anyone judging her for getting herself an engagement ring, as the decision was solely to build herself up and take care of herself.
Taking care of yourself, especially when you run a career that's filled with people trying to bring you down, is incredibly important. So, buy that gift for yourself. Take that trip by yourself. Do whatever you need and stop waiting around for others to be on your time.
