Tyler "Ninja" Blevins, one of the most famous streamers in the world, has revealed a New Year's Event aimed at those who'll be glued to streams on NYE. Dubbed Ninja's NYE, the event was revealed by release today (Dec. 19) and is partnering with Dominos Pizza, as well as inviting special guests such as TimTheTattman, SypherPK, DrLupo, BasicallyIDoWrk, LEGIQN, and others to make this a streaming-culture spectacular. Think Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve, but with streamers, we guess.

The event promises to be an "alternative live entertainment option geared toward gaming and digitally native audiences." What this means in practice is a Fortnite tournament and "games like pong, marbles, and more." We're hoping they mean beer pong and Marbles on Stream, rather than the alternative.

For his part Ninja seems excited: "I'm incredibly hyped to bring my NYE party to your house, I'm super excited to ring in the New Year alongside my best friends in the community. We have had such an incredible year at Team Ninja that this is the perfect way to bring in 2024. Looking forward to seeing all of my fans and making it a one-of-a-kind experience for everyone tuning in."

But why the Dominos sponsorship? Well, in case you've not been to a NYE party in a while, it's pretty universal that people end up ordering pizza. That point is echoed by Kate Trumbull, Domino's chief brand officer: "We are thrilled to be a part of Ninja's NYE party, especially as we kick off one of our busiest pizza days of the year."

"What better way to ring in the New Year than with giveaways and special discounts on great pizzas for this exciting live event!" These prizes and discounts include $100 Domino's gift cards, gaming equipment, and Ninja merchandise.

More than a unique entertainment event, this is a chance for Ninja to right a wrong of a past NYE. We are, of course, referring to the Times Square Flossing incident from NYE 2018, that saw a lone Blevins attempt to inspire a crowd of indifferent New Yorkers standing in the rain to do the "flossing" dance move.

"I'm not seeing enough movement" chided Blevins to the motionless crowd in what was truly one of the most cringe-worthy moments in all of streaming culture's history. We're sure that there will be mandatory flossing for guests at this event.

But jokes aside, these kinds of streaming events for NYE aimed at gaming audiences are a welcome addition to the end-of-year entertainment lineup. It's almost law that any New Year's celebration has to have a screen with some kind of countdown playing as the clock hits midnight. And for people who've given up TV, and use their computers and streaming for entertainment, streams like this are the best choice on NYE.

You can tune into Ninja's NYE at 6:00 p.m. CT, Dec. 31 via TwitchYouTube, and TikTok. For more information visit the official website. Stick with esports.gg for more streamer news.
