Mr. Beast might be Kick’s biggest (and most profitable) signing

He’s not asking for money or a contract for himself, but a million-dollar donation for his Clean Water Foundation.

Through social media posts, Jimmy "Mr. Beast" Donaldson announced he will be live-streaming on Kick for the first time. This is part of a campaign for his charity #TeamWater, an initiative that aims to raise $40M this August.

Many remember that xQc's contract was worth up to $100M. However, this is considered a two-year signing with a base amount of $70M. Jimmy's cost might be higher if put into perspective: He will only stream once until he raises $5M. To reach this goal, Mr. Beast will partner up with Adin Ross and xQc.

Why is Mr. Beast picking Kick instead of Twitch?

While there are multiple reasons we can assume, one is certain: xQc and Aidin both said that Eddie Craven, Kick's co-founder, would happily donate two million dollars if Jimmy decided to stream on Kick.

The two streamers went live with Mr. Beast while trying to convince him to go stream on the green platform. At first, Jimmy wasn't interested, but then he teased the idea of going live for 24 hours if he was able to raise five million dollars.

After exploring the possibilities, the decision was made: The three of them will go live on Aug. 14 on Mr. Beast's Kick channel to over 23K followers.

Mr. Beast's collaboration with the most famous Kick streamers instead of Twitch's is not a coincidence. For years, Jimmy showed how much he disagrees with how Amazon's streaming platform treats the creators. In 2023, he voiced out his concerns, and even teased with the idea of streaming on Kick as a protest — but didn't, in the end.

What may have been the last nail in the coffin for Twitch is how much money Dan Clancy, its CEO, donated in comparison to the rest of the streamers they reached out to during this stream. "Off the top of my head, I'm happy donating a thousand dollars for clean water right now", said Clancy during the round of donations. Despite how huge any donation means for the #TeamWater cause, Mr. Beast was not so excited after hearing the number.

What is #TeamWater and how close are they to their goal?

#TeamWater is Mr. Beast's charity project that will run during Aug. 2025. Their objective is to raise $40M to supply millions of families around the world with clean water for decades. You can watch their live progress on their website. Currently, they are very close to $16M, and are looking to surpass $20M after Mr. Beast's first Kick stream.

After this first stream with Adin Ross, the foundation got over $2.3M in donations from other creators:

  • Trainwrecks: $400K
  • N30n: $10K
  • SteveWillDoIt: $50K
  • xQc: $400K
  • MrBeast: $400K
